Jungkook brushed Leena's hair from her forehead and wiped off her sweat with a wet towel. She whimpered in her sleep.
Jungkook frowned and pulled the blanket under her chin. He poked her cheeks that were a deep red color. He'd seen her vulnerable. Multiple times. But when she was sick it was the worst. Jungkook found himself laying next to her with his arm across her waist over the blanket almost every time. Falling asleep next to her.
"Better yet?"
I shook my head and tapped my throat.
"You didn't drink any tea did you?"
I sighed and shook my head.
"Told you." Jungkook said smuggly.
I whined and pouted at him.
"It's too bad you lost your voice. I wanted to actually talk to you stupid."
I scrunched my nose up at him.
"Have you talked to Namjoon today?"
I shook my head.
"I'm not surprised actually. He's been working none stop."
I frowned at that. I liked that he was getting work done but I didn't want him to overwork himself.
"Calm down Leena. I'll make sure he'll take a rest."
I bowed to him and smiled.
I put my hands together in thanks.
He sighed and rested his head on his hands. "There's something that's been bothering me Leena."
"Hmm?"
"A lot of my memories that have been coming back lately are of you being sick. Why?" His eyes narrowed as he watched me shift in my sleep.
I grabbed a whiteboard I had sitting on my desk, a small one, and started writing on it.
Your memories might be intermingled. I wasn't sick that often.
"Bullshit Nana. You can fool Namjoon with that crap, but not me."
My little whiteboard slipped from my fingers. I didn't even have the chance to acknowledge the old nickname Kookie used to use to annoy me. I coughed slightly and rubbed my wrist.
"You're not planning to tell him are you?" Jungkook said in realization as his eyes narrowed.
My shoulders slumped in defeat and I shook my head.
"Why not Leena? He needs to know."
I shook my head more vigorously with my eyes shut tight.
Jungkook sighed.
"Leena-"
"No Jungkook." I barely croaked out. I held my throat. It was painful to talk. "There's no reason. I'm fine."
"No you're not! Leena."
"Make sure Joonie gets some rest. Kay?"
"Nana-"
I cut off the call and leaned back in my chair.
You promised not to run away. You promised Leena.
I had to constantly remind myself not to. Even more so lately.
