There was no response. There wasn't one for the next couple of days. I had attempted twice to get an answer from the stranger but there was nothing. I had to admit my curiosity was getting the best of me. I really wanted to figure out who this person was. Not to the point that it was consuming all of my time. I'd already reasoned that maybe the person was perfectly fine with English on paper but not so much in pronunciation. Many people were like that.

By the next Friday it was lingering at the back of my mind. I had gone out to go get some ice cream with a friend that day. I had told her the morning after the first phone call what happened. She was probably one of the main reasons I hadn't completely forgotten about it.

I picked at a cinnamon swirl in my apple pie ice cream as we chatted at the table.

"So did you finish the book for the english test that was today?" She asked me before popping a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth.

"Crap there was a book to that?"

She looked at me in disbelief before realizing it was a joke. "That's not funny muffin."

I rolled my eyes earning me a slap on my arm. "You're still going on about that huh?"

"Of course!" She said with an enthusiastic nod of the head.

I put a spoonful ice cream in my mouth to hide my amusement. "Why?"

"Because this random person could be your future husband."

I choked on a bit of apple. I went into a coughing fit as I lightly punched my chest in hopes of clearing my airways.

I covered my mouth after I stopped coughing. "Mindy, I need you to be realistic here for the sake of my health. I don't even know this guy's name. He could sell baby goats on the black market for fucks sake."

She glared at me. "Language, and I highly doubt he sells baby goats on the black market. "

"He'd be a real monster if he did." I mumbled.

I had a deep love for baby goats. Who wouldn't after seeing them run?

"Seriously you and goats... Anyways you never know what the future holds." She chirped with a wave of her spoon.

"Guarantee it's not a husband." I muttered just before my phone rang.

🎶MARSHMALLOW MARSHMALLOW🎶

"XIUMIN!" Mindy yelled gleefully as I answered the phone.

I chuckled at Mindy's outburst before addressing the call. "Hel-"

"-Yah are you honestly that worried about it? You haven't been working the past few days."

"I have been." Someone muttered.

There was some ruffling papers. "You've written one line."

"Are you done with my phone yet?"

"Nope. Please continue to rant."

Who is this now?

I pulled my phone from my eat to check the caller Id.

It's the same number again.

"There's nothing more to rant about."

"You've been staring at your phone when we're working and while we are at the dorm."

"I don't know,okay? I don't even know this girl."

"She sounds pretty."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"How incredibly shallow of you Yoongi."

"Thanks."

"Can I have my phone back, shortie?"

There was a moment of irritated silence. Then some quiet mixed mumbling that slowly crescendoed.

"-sure whatever just wait a couple seconds~ Opps, wait is this her number? Ahh my bad, here's your cell, peace."

"Yah!!!"

"This is what you get for the disrespect! Stop being an idiot and say what you gotta say."

There is the sound of the door closing followed by silence.

"Yo~" I said breaking the silence.

"Hey... I'm sorry about that." He said in English.

"You sound different."

"I had to speak English like a friend when I prank called... He doesn't really do english."

"But you do I see. "

"...yea."

"You have a nice voice." I commented. It was true, it was deep and smooth.

"Thank you. I'm sorry for not responding and everything. I thought it would be hard to explain but I guess it's really not huh?"

"No not at all." I chuckled. Looks like stranger was somewhat of a nervous reck. That could be annoying but then again somewhat adorable.

I looked across the table at a goofy looking Mindy. Her smile was wide and her eyebrows were high and suggestive. I stuck my tongue out at her.

"Listen this has been a great talk and all but my friend is giving me a really goofy face and my ice cream has officially reached post Ice Age stage so I gotta go."

"Oh! Yeah, right sorry.." I heard the door again.

"Don't worry about it. Also tell your friend thanks for saying I sound pretty."

I heard a no problem in the background and laughed before hanging up.

I looked up at Mindy who looked about ready to burst.

"Go ahead." I said leaning forward as to look attentive towards the river of questions she was prepping to ask.

"Do you like his friend now?"

"Oh my god Mindy.."

As I went on to explain to her the science and principles behind love and why she needed to stop reading cliche horribly written fanfictions one thing stayed on my mind.

I still didn't know this guy's name...
