A girl was standing alone at the deck of the ship. The cold night air passes by quietly at several intervals, making the girl feel a tad bit chilly in the process. As if out of instinct, it caused the girl to rub both of her arms by her opposite hands making a crisscross appearance.
What a chilly night it is. The ten year old girl told herself. She exhaled and saw her breath coming out like a fog.
I wonder how he is faring? After all the incidents that have happened in his life ever since they left the Holy Land, I bet he's still as headstrong as the person I know him as.
I can only pray that nothing bad would happen to our family after we left Mariejois.
Minutes later, a masculine shadow loomed over the back of the girl's person. He was walking ever so gently as not to startle his sister who seemed to be pondering deeply over something.
I wonder what she's busy thinking about. The lad asked himself.
"Hey, Helen-chan. Are you thinking about something? Or maybe it's about what happened this afternoon?" a masculine voice inquired.
The beige haired female who was staring at the night sky removed her gaze from them and faced the said male.
"Axel-niisan."
She recognized the person standing behind her.
"Yes, I was busy thinking about something." She stops for a second and deeply exhaled to release the cold she's been feeling.
"And no, it's not about what had occurred this afternoon."
Axel tilts his head in confusion. "Then, what is it?"
Helen sighed and replied. "It's about our life and how we will live today," she moves her hands and arms in a frontal circular motion as if pointing out everything around her, "Since we aren't tenryuubitos anymore. . ." as the girl trails off.
It seems that I got worried over the wrong cause here. Helen's brother automatically corrects himself.
"I'm also worried that our lives as a family will end up like the first family who voluntarily left Mariejois. What was their name again?" Axel's sister thought about for a second and continued, "Ah, the Donquixote Family I mean."
Axel smiled reassuringly to his sister and said. "No need to worry about things like that, Helen-chan."
"I think it's best for us siblings to leave it to otou-san and okaa-san."
He continued as he looked up the night sky while his sister faced him. The said sister nods in agreement and recognition after she heard what her brother said.
"You should go back inside the ship, I will be the one to take over the rest of the night watch."
"Hai Axel-nii," the girl turns her back and walks away but stops after several steps as she faces halfway towards her brother and said, "oyasumi."
In turn, Axel bids his sister goodnight. "Oyasumi, imouto-chan."
