Every rose has its thorns (Part 2)

Toshiro's POV: I froze in my tracks as well as Alice. I look at Karin. She's staring at the ground. What is she to me? "Do you see me as just a friend?" Just a friend? "No." I replied. "You're my close friend. I mean you were the first person I met here that made me feel comfortable. And I think we're both very similar as well." Why? Why didn't I say the truth? I don't think of her as a friend, I see her as more than a friend but not as a friend!

Karin's POV: I kept staring at him. Why did I ask him that? I saw the swear dripping down his face. Guess I went a little overboard, huh? "Why are you two fighting? Stop fighting." Alice said breaking the silence. She tugged on my hand and placed it on his hand. I smiled. I whispered to him "Sorry for saying that out of the blue."

Toshiro's POV: We continued looking for Alice's parents. "Kon-kun!!!!!!!!" Alice shouted. She bolted away from us to this store window. She was starting at a plush that looked like Ichigo's plush with the soul candy in it. I walked into the store and bought her a plush. "Thank you mister." I look over to Karin. She's asking people of they recognize her. "Karin" she looked at me. "You hungry?"

We all walked towards a Takoyaki stand. Karin went to go get the Takoyaki for Alice and I. "Alice, tell me ... why do you think I like Karin-chan?" I asked her. She grabbed my hand. "Well, every time I look at you, you're starting at her." I am? Karin walks back. "Are you alright Toshiro?" She asked. I nodded. She handed Alice her Takoyaki and mine as well. 'I also have a surprise for you Alice." Across the street from us were a man and woman. " Daddy, Mommy!" Alice shouted as she ran towards them. She had to cross the street but she didn't look both ways ... oh dear. "ALICE!!!!" I scream at her. She stops in her tracks on the street and a car approaches. I knew I wasn't able to reach her but my legs ran anyways. There was a dust cloud. I stopped as the dust cleared. I then see Karin, with Alice in her arms but she's on the ground. Alice begins to cry as Karin tries to get up. It turns out the car ran over her leg. The driver saw what happened and probably panicked because they backed up and drove away. I got her on her legs, even though she lost a lot of blood. Alice's parents called her family clinic and an ambulance arrived in no time. Alice and her parents thanked us for everything but they had to go on their plane home. While her sister and father were stitching her up, Ichigo kept giving me the stink eye. It's probably because I didn't protect her.

*Few hours later

Karin's POV: My leg hurt but it seems like I'll be okay. Too bad I won't be able to play soccer for a while. Occasionally I see Ichigo and Toshiro have a argument about my ... safety. Toshiro comes into my room sometimes just to see if I'm okay. It's sweet, but so unlike him. Sometimes I see him asleep next to my bed. Just at this moment Toshiro walks into my room. "Hey Karin, you alright?" I smile at him. "Why wouldn't I be?" "Well, looks like you were crying a little bit ago." What? H- he noticed? It's true, but I don't know why. I began to sniffle. He came closer and gave me a hug. I began crying my eyes out. "Its alright. Let it all out. How long has it been since you cried like this? Over a decade, am I right?" I nodded. "I guess you kept it all in for so long your heart couldn't handle it." I cried on his chest for a few minutes before I calmed down. He patted my back. He looked at me in the eyes seeing how puffy my eyes would've been. He puts his forehead onto mine and says "I'm always here for you." I smile and leaned forward. I began to close my eyes and so did he. I could feel his breath. But right at that moment Yuzu comes in squealing. "You two are so cute!!!! Are you two dating yet?!?! Does dad know??" Then dad comes in. "What? My little girl has a boyfriend? OMG!!!" I would stop what they were thinking but it was true. I really did fall for this boy.
