So so sorry for the long delay. Also, thanks for understanding. I was in a tough situation and couldn't do anything about it. It issue isn't completely resolved yet but I should still be updating. Happy reading.

This takes place around a year after last chapter's events.

Karin's POV: Another Valentine's Day is coming up. It was around this time that I didn't give Toshiro what I wanted to give him. It was also around the time we made that promise. The promise that we'd always have each other's back. But now that promise probably won't be fulfilled. I haven't seen him in so long. I wonder what he's doing.

Toshiro's POV: "Come on! Let's go! Hurry!" I shout. There was a group of hollows eating innocent souls in district 79. It's been days and we haven't gotten them yet. We've gotten most of them but the main guy hasn't been taken down yet. "Shiro-chan! Be careful." I placed my hand to my face. "I told you to call me Captain Hitsugaya did I not? Now go back to your squad Momo. We have a lot of work to do." Momo went back to her squad. Then I hear a horrifying scream. It was the scream of a child. "All right men! Lets do this!" shouts Matsumoto. We all proceed to attack the group of hollows

That night

"Woooo! We all did it!" Matsumoto shouts in celebration. We had finally defeated that giant group of hollows. I was suprised that we didn't lose any men. As a celebration, most of the squads either went to a bath house or went out for drinks. Of course these men wanted a drink, by men I also mean Matsumoto. "Captain! Aren't you going to have a drink?" she asks me. She clearly looks drunk. I shrug her off. "I'm going to get some fresh air" and walk out the door. I look at the night sky. How long has it been since I was at in the living world? A year? That's way too long, but without any sort of mission being assigned there, I have no reason. I guess I won't make it back in time for Valentine's Day. "Shiro-chan?" I snap out of my cloud of thought when I hear Momo's voice. "Hey." I reply. She looks worried. "Is something wrong Shiro-chan?" I sigh. I shake my head no. I stare at the ground, expecting her to leave. "Is this about Karin-chan?" My eyes widen and I move myself to face her. "Wha? I-I- What're you talking about?" She smiles at me. "You know, you can always just sneak out to see her." I look back to the ground. "You know I can never do that again." "Well, how about you send her something?" I look back at her. "How?" I ask. "We're getting better at going back and forth from the living world and the soul society. Apparently we now have a new butterfly in the works. Similar to the hell butterfly that are used for communication, these new butterflies are used for transporting items to other shinigamis. They don't have a name yet though. It's still in the works but if you're willing to try using one to send something to Karin-chan, we can ask Captain Kurotsuchi if we can test one out." I think about this and I end up agreeing

Back at Toshiro's hut (Idk where he lives)

"I know I put it somewhere ... ah! Here it is." I pulled out a box. Inside the box was something I had picked up for Karin back when I was in the living world. It was a red and sky blue with a heart charm in the center. This was lighter than the items the butterflies are being made to carry so it shouldn't be too hard. "Shiro-chan! I got a hold of one!" Momo comes bursting into my room with one of these butterflies in her hand. We attach the gift to it and send it off to the living world. "I hope she gets it."

Back in the living world

Karin's POV: "G'night everyone!" I say waving goodbye to my soccer team buds. Because we're all single teens, we all decided to go out together. We went to a cake cafe, and then went to karaoke. Now the day is over and I'm on my way home. I'm pretty sure Ichigo's date with Orihime is over by now. To be honest, I feel like shit right now. I always have my hopes up when a holiday comes up. Hoping Toshiro will come by to visit, but he never comes. Or so I thought. I stopped in my tracks. I sensed something coming closer. I start looking around for anything unusual. All I saw was a ... butterfly? In this weather? But on closer inspection, it looked a little unusual to the regular butterflies I see in the spring and summer. It was also carrying something. A little box that was addressed to ... me? The butterfly flies off when it reaches my hands and gives me the box. I open it to see a beautiful bracelet inside. I'm not one for jewelry but it was amazing. There was also a little note inside the box.

"I miss you so much. I'm sorry I can't always be there, but I'll come to you whenever I'm available. And once I see you, I'll tell you something very important."
