Chapter 10: Dim Forest (New Version)

Five days before the mission and they will go forth to the Undersea Kingdom. They are inside the cafeteria and were busy eating. The Primus Section were discussing their upcoming lesson in Mr. Panther's subject.

"Alpha Tester, moron." Light mumbled.

The Primus Section will be the Alpha Tester for the Dim Forest. Master Garet copied the design of the real Dim Forest and create a new training ground for the students to test their skills.

"I thought it was Beta Tester?" Aizen asked while slurping his milkshake.

Phoenix nudges Aizen, "Bobo. Kailan pa nauna ang B sa A?"

"Dude, what?"

"Alpha Tester ang nauuna bago ang Beta Tester. Palaging una ang A." Phoenix explained while pointing his fork to Aizen. The others awed to Phoenix expect Ice, Light, and Sky who just smirks at him.

"Acceptable reasoning from a nincompoop." Light mumbled. He moved two empty plates in his front. He places a fork from the right plate and a spoon to the other, "This one with the fork is the Alpha Tester, their main goal is to identify all possible issues before releasing the product to the public and is tested by the employees within the certain company. While this one, the Beta Tester, is performed by the so-called real players and their feedbacks will be the reference of the developers."

"Hindi ba dapat ay Beta Tester ang tawag sa atin?" Aizelle asked.

"Dapat. But from what I heard from Master Garet. His friends are nowhere to be found right now to test the Artificial Dim Forest. And because we are Primus Section we have the privilege to be the Alpha Testers." Sky explained.

"Oh. Bakit alam na alam ni Light 'yan?" Sue asked.

"Dude, are you really asking an obvious thing?" Aizelle asked.

"Why?"

"Sino ba sa atin ang tumira na sa harap ng TV?" Aizelle exclaimed. Light glared at her that made their squad laughed.

The students from other sections feel envious of them. They are the first to test the new invention of the greatest alchemist.

"Now, we are here in front of the dim forest. I hope you're all ready." Mr. Panther announced.

In front of them was the Artificial Dim Forest and it seems so eerie. Gigantic trees welcomed them; the mahoganies are several houses tall, reaching towards the golden rays of the spring. Yet the twigs and branches even the thick leaves were preventing the light from passing through the majestic forest.

The members of the Primus Section were all looking excited except Ice.

"Anong klaseng activity ngayon, Mr. Panther?" Sue asked excitedly. Mr. Panther smirked at her and said, "Individual Activity. And your goal is to kill the most number of monsters inside. The Artificial Dim Forest contains 450 monsters."

"What's good about this Artificial Dim Forest?" Aizen asked. Mr. Panther claps his hands and said, "Good question. This is Garet's latest invention and the blueprints came from his friend that had gone to the real Dim Forest."

"And class, may I remind you that every monster is worth a point and eliminating your classmate is worth five points. The winner will get an awesome reward from Garet personally. But players that will be eliminated and place at the bottom will get a punishment." Mr. Panther smiled and the students in his front disappeared. They have been scattered inside the Dim Forest.

Ice awed. The air is rich with the scent of leaves and mulch. As she touches the tree she knew it was very ancient. The trees are thick yet they are old, the roots that were twisted. It was weird for her to see Autumn leaves during the spring, above her were sparkling leaves that radiate the pigment of the blazing fire yet once detaches to the twigs it becomes brittle brown; their sound was like dried cereal crunched underfoot, driving the papery remains deep into the soft dirt.
