Chapter 56: Vengeance (New Version)

There were no clouds, no stars just the moonlight shining at their eyes. The cold weather was unable to extinguish the burning tension in the surrounding, not a single noise can be heard as they tightly grip on their swords. The whisper of the wind became the signal of their dance.

As Skyler and Night met in the middle, they began to dance as their swords began to beat a beautiful hymn.

Night step sidewards, he plunged his sword to Skyler's stomach but he failed. Skyler was more agile compare to their last battle. Skyler kicked him in the face making him fly backward.

And once again, Night was caught off guard when Skyler appeared behind him. Skyler thrust his sword to Night, a large wound became visible at his stomach with just a glimpse. Night winced. He pursed his lips and galloped behind, he was avoiding Skyler's attack.

Night was thinking of his last resort just to defeat the king of Demigods Academy.

He bit his lower lip, he wiped off the blood from his mouth and used it to draw a pentagram on his wrist. Skyler was languidly looking at him as he started to transform.

Night was screeching as the bloody red magic circle began to envelop them. The tension began to arise, the menacing black shadows were gathering around Night. His eyes were shut, a single wing appeared at his side. And when he opened his eyes, a symbol of pentagram appeared; the eyeball was painted with crimson red and the pentagram was black.

In a blink of an eye, Night disappeared from Skyler's facade. And before he could react, a strong wind occurred along with a cut in Skyler's arm.

Skyler smiled.

With just his two fingers, Skyler stopped Night's sword. Night looked at him with disbelief and when Skyler's eyes met his, he began to tremble.

"Kung gamit mo lang sana ang blessing mo dati, siguro ay pag-asa ka pang manalo." Skyler stated.

Night gritted his teeth. Thoughts were streaming down on his mind which was telling him that it was only were a mere fluke. He tried to strike another attack on Skyler which was easily dodged.

"Impossible..." Night mumbled.

Skyler smirked. "I can defeat you without being serious, Night."

All of a sudden Night was prison inside a sphere of water. He was trying his best just to get out, and then realization finally struck inside Night's mind. Whatever he does, Skyler will always be ahead of him. He stopped struggling in the water instead, he began to embrace it.

Night tightly held his sword. Skyler was watching him with curiosity, he was about to uncast his attack when all of a sudden Night pierced his heart with his sword.

Skyler's eyes grew wide as his knees weakened. Tears began to fall as he runs towards him, "Fucking Styx..." he mumbled.

Under the shades of the moonlight, the smile that Skyler was waiting for years appeared. Blood spit out of Night's mouth, "Sky... Dude, I'm sorry."
