Chapter 12: The Lost Sheep (New Version)

SKYLER.

The forest doesn't feel alive anymore, the monsters weren't lurking around. The path under my feet fades as I follow Ice into the endless darkness; the black trunks were narrowing the pathway, the bluish charcoal sky was above me but the tall trees were covering it. But the menacing darkness and the unpleasant coldness were colliding.

I halted when I felt a crunch under my feet; the grass field of moisture turned into crystal field.

And as I look up I saw Ice looking in front. Her eyes were glistening as she leers; she was releasing chills, in this long dark evening she was making me feel the wasteland of white.

"Who are you?" Ice asked. In just a blink of an eye, a dagger suddenly soared towards our direction and directly to mine. I was about to dodge it when a thick wall of ice appeared in my front preventing the dagger to make contact with me.

I saw Ice twitching. She still has magic energy depletion. Hindi pa siya maayos and when the ice shield faded, she also lost her consciousness.

I bit my lower lip as I catch her. But my guard is still up when a silhouette appeared in my front, my eyes widened as I felt various emotion building inside me as I look up.

"If it isn't Skyler the Great?" He asked.

Everything around him feels so different. His brunette hair and his annoying smirk are still there but he gives off a different vibe than before. He's the lost sheep, after all.

"If it isn't Skyler the Great?" He mocked.

I squinted my eyes and noticed the odd thing about him. His golden eyes were now dull as black. He was releasing a sinister aura; death, and pain, and it was sickening.

"Night," I uttered.

He was the lost sheep and my best friend. Night Cooper, the former third seat among the Primus Section and my former seatmate.

Hindi ko alam ang nangyari sa kanya dahil bigla na lamang siyang nawala. Ilang beses kong tinanong ang sarili ko kung paano o bakit kailangan niyang umalis pa. Kahit minsan ay hindi ko pinaramdan na iba siya, hindi pinaramdam ng Primus Section na anak siya ng isang Titan.

After all, he's the Son of Kronos.

"I heard the news that someone made it to the Primus Section, so I checked it." He grins. His dull eyes were locked to Ice. "But who would have thought that it would be her?"

"You know Ice?" I quizzically asked.

"Of course!" He beamed as he clasps his hands. "And I know you already knew that she is a piece of bad news-"

"She is not."

He chaotically laughed, "She will diminish the light soon."

I mockingly looked at him, "Trust me, she will not." I said. I grip tighter to Ice and said, "After all, I'm already immune."

His eyes beamed at me. He wasn't expecting me to say that to him.

"The lack of light that worried us so much at first is just a normal thing now. "

He languidly looked at me and shrugged, "Just a friendly reminder, that woman will scatter the Primus Section. You better watch your back." I was about to speak when snaps his fingers and slowly disappeared into thin air.

I gritted my teeth.

"SKY!"

"Tangina. Bakit ngayon lang kayo?" I asked.
