Unexpected Date

I had just got finished getting ready for my date - but not just with anyone. I had a date with Shazam! I know I wasn't expecting it either but he smooth talked me into it. I'm only going on this date to hear him out. I'm not really interested in him anymore, I'm more into Kadeem now more than ever.

I checked my face one more time in the mirror before the door bell started ringing. I took a deep breath and opened the door.

"What's up Stace?" Shazam asked.

I smiled a little "I'm good, how are you?" I asked him.

"I'm doing better now. You look beautiful." He said spinning me around.

I rolled my eyes and smiled regardless. "Stop flirting with me and let's go." I said pushing him out of the door.

I locked the door behind me and we got into his car. "You look nice yourself if I haven't told you that." I told Shazam as he pulled away  from my house.

"If I ain't know any better, I'd say you were flirting with me." Shazam said smirking at me.

"Boy please! You wish I was flirting with you." I said laughing. It made him laugh a little too. "Where are we going anyway?" I asked looking around.

"Your favorite place." He responded.

"We going to Yale Street Grill?" I asked getting excited.

He laughed. "Yea or we can go to Barbecue Inn." He said.

"Hm they both sound so good!" I said rubbing my now growling stomach.

"Better pick one quickly." He said driving on to the highway.

"Let's go to my favorite place and if you behave, we can go to the second place before you leave." I suggested.

He licked his lips and smiled. I tightened my legs together and looked out the window. "I like that idea." He said zooming down the highway.

We pulled up to "Yale Street Grill" and got out of the car. Shazam opened the door for me and we got seated. I didn't need a menu because I come here all the time.

"Good evening, I'm Marvin, and I'll be your waiter for the evening." Marvin said handing each of us a menu.

He walked away as Shazam looked over the menu. I placed the menu off to the side on the table and stared at Shazam. He still didn't recognize so I cleared my throat.

"So what made you ask me out tonight!" I asked curious.

"I know you with that dude and I know I told you we wouldn't ever be, but something is changing. I was hoping you would give me a second chance." He said putting the menu down.

I arched my right eyebrow is confusion. "Why now? This just makes everything so complicated." I said as Marvin came back.

"Are y'all ready to order?" Marvin asked pulling out a notepad and a pen.

"I'll have a buffalo burger minus the onions and mustard. And a order of large fries with a vanilla milkshake." I told Marvin as he scribbled it down.

"And for you sir?" Marvin asked without looking up.

"I'll have the chicken burger with everything on it with a order of large fries. And I'll take a Sprite to drink." Shazam ordered and Marvin nodded.

"It should be ready in twenty minutes." Marvin said walking away.

Waiting for the food to come Shazam and I had small talk. Marvin had finally brought us out food and drinks. I started digging in as soon as Marvin disappeared.

"Someone seems hungry." Shazam said eating his fries two at a time.

I swallowed my food and rolled my eyes. "If you must know I haven't eaten all day." I told him matter of factly.

We are in silence after that and argued about who was gonna pay the bill. We both decided to spilt he bill and we got back in his car.

We rapped to 2Pac all the way back to the block. He parked in front of my house and I turned to look at him.

"Well tonight was interesting." I told him laughing a bit.

"Yea it was and it was one of the best dates I had in a long time." He admitted.

"It was cool I won't lie." I said honestly.

He leaned over to kiss me but I backed up. I shook my head no. "Tonight was cool and I had fun but we can't do this." I told him gesturing between us.

He nodded and turned to look out his window. "Aight I'll see you around then." He said unlocking the car doors.

I got out and before I could lock the door he pulled off. I jumped back in shock and shook my head before heading inside.

I greeted my aunt Kayla and her friend Ms.Jennie, before heading up to my room. I walked past Cole's room and could this conversation he was having with some chick.

I stood against his bedroom door listening to the conversation for a bit before getting disgusted. I walked into my bedroom closing the door behind me. I dropped on to my bed closing my eyes before falling asleep unintentionally.
