Expect The Unexpected (H-Town)

Prep For D-Wade Party

"What am I wearing to this party?" I asked myself throwing shit out of my closet. I grabbed white high waisted jeans and threw them on.

"What's next? What's next? I need a cute top." I said still walking around talking to myself. I opened my top drawer and pulled out my peach crop top and put it on. I walked over to my mirror in the bathroom and checked myself out.

I smiled at the results. Then my face dropped because I still need to do something with my hair and my makeup. "Ugh! So much work!" I yelled out in frustration.

"KAE!" I heard Brianna yelling into my room.

"BATHROOM BRI!" I yelled back waking out of the bathroom.

I walked out and met her by my bed. "Why you getting dressed up? Where you going?" She asked all in the kool-aid. I rolled my eyes and stared at her.

"Just wanna know because I'm spending the night at Cindy's crib. Shawn is going to the club with Derrick tonight. You gonna be stuck here by yourself.

"Nah I'm going to Dwayne's party tonight with Leah and Stacey. I need you to do me a favor though." I said smiling really hard at her.

"I hate when you do that creep smile." She said backing away.

"I just need you to do my makeup because I don't feel like doing that and my hair. Please? I'll give you twenty Benjamin's." I said honestly.

"Deal!" She said running to my dresser to grab my makeup kit. "Take a seat!" She said. I plopped into my bed and she started going to work.

She finished a hour later and she actually did a great job. She's done my makeup before but this time I was just impressed.

"Good job Bri." I said checking myself out in the mirror.

"You're so welcome! Scary turned into Mary." She said laughing. "What you doing to that hair of yours" she asked.

"Gonna curl it the easy way possible." I told her smiling.

"Wet it and then run a brush through it" She said laughing.

"You sho nuff right!" I said disappearing into the bathroom.

I grabbed my hair brush and some conditioner. I stuck my head under the faucet and lathered my hair in conditioner. I grabbed a towel off of the rack and wrapped it behind me. I started brushing my hair out and then washed the conditioner out.

I towel dried my hair until it was damp. I throughly brushed out my hair until it was curly then added hair products until it looked the way I wanted to. I put everything back and went into my bedroom. I touched up my makeup and plopped into my bed again. I picked up the receiver and called Stacey.

Phone Call:

Me: "Hey! You almost done?"
Stacey: "Yea girl! Just finishing my makeup."
Me: "Called Leah yet? You know she be moving slow as hell sometimes."
Stacey: "She's on her way over here."
Me: "Shitting me! Normally we have to go get her. The world has to be ending or something Stace!"
Stacey: *Laughing* Nah from what she told me, she just wanna get wasted and forget about what she told Darryl. Her shit ain't work out too great either."
Me: "Damn. Maybe she'll find her a cute guy at Dwayne's party. Shit! Hopefully we all do. Keven playing around with me and I'm not gonna be waiting around for him."
Stacey: "Girl you preaching to the choir right now! I refuse to continue waiting for Solomon. If I find a new man tonight, then it's bye bye Shazam!"
Me: *Laughing* "I don't blame y'all. Can't be waiting until they finally decide on their feelings. But Keven made his very clear so I've decided to start moving on. Anyway, I'm gonna be waiting on y'all downstairs on the porch.
Stacey: "Aight. See you real soon."
Me: "Later."

I put the receiver back on the hook and went to my closet. I grabbed my Air Jordan 4's and some socks. I quickly put everything on and added some more deodorant and perfume. I added just a little bit more lipstick and some cash to my pocket. I locked my bedroom door behind me and checked the clock.

"Eight forty-five. Roger that." I said making my way downstairs.

I felt Shawn bump right info me. "Damn Shawn! I mean I understand that I'm small compared to you, but I ain't that damn small!" I said annoyed and shocked.

He just stood there laughing. I rolled my eyes and walked around him. "Where you going?" He asked once he caught his breath. 

Just to fuck with his head I gave him a dumb answer. "Meeting up with Derrick." I told him smiling devilishly with my back towards him. Standing on the bottom step I can feel him behind me, breathing down my neck angrily.

"Your about to go do what?!" He asked with a deep angry voice.

I silently giggled and then answered. "You heard me." I said walking towards the door.

"Kaedi! Take another step and I'm beating of y'all asses" Shawn said.

I purposely took another step and then I heard a car horn. I opened the door and Shawn slammed it shut. Brianna made her way half way down the stairs.

"She's going out with Leah and Stacey. You know damn well she ain't going nowhere with Derrick. Calm down Shawn and stop being so over protective." Brianna said rolling her eyes.

"She's right you know! I love my big over protective brother though. I know you mean well." I said kissing his cheek then disappearing out the door.

"HEY Y'ALL!!! Let's get this party started!" I yelled approaching my best friends. We all hugged.

"You look bangin right now girl!" Leah said spinning me around.

"Thanks. Y'all look bangin too." I said and we started walking to the party.
