Stacey

"So you just gonna go against the grain and continue to ignore me?" I asked Shazam for the fifth time.

He took another sip of his grape soda and continued to ignore me. He was watching the highlights of a basketball game. I snatched the cord out of the wall and the tv went off.

"What the fuck Stacey!" He yelled clearly irritated.

"I don't give a fuck about your highlights! I'm trying to talk to you and you iggin' my shit! I want to apologize about the other night Solomon." I said sitting next to him in the couch.

He moved all the way over to end of the other couch. I sighed and grabbed my bag and bottle of water. "I'm not gonna keep trying with you. My chasing days has been over and I'm not starting again. Can't say I never tried to apologize." I told him heading towards the door.

"Sit the hell back down." He said firmly.

I turned around shocked as hell. "Excuse me?! Who the fuck do -" He got me off.

"I said sit the hell down Stacey, don't make me repeat myself." He warned.

I put my bag back down on the ground and sat down. I was not trying to argue with him and I had to meet Kadeem in fifteen minutes.

"Why are you trying to apologize now?" He asked sitting on the wooden coffee table in front of me.

"I'm not trying to lose you as a friend Solomon. Just because we're in the same book, doesn't mean we're on the same page. I'm sorry about how our date turned out in the end, but you know I've moved on to Kadeem. I'm sorry if I hurt you but I will not let myself go back down this road." I told him bluntly.

"So this is about you trying to spare my feelings?" He asked confused.

"No! This is about me trying to reconcile my friendship with you!" I said yelling because I was getting irritated.

"Bring your voice down in my house." He warned again.

Him warning me was kind of turning me on but I wouldn't dare let Shazam know that. And I don't know why he's going in so hard on me. He told me time and time again that he didn't like me in that way.

"Why you acting like this? Didn't you tell me multiple times that you didn't like me in that way? So why is it that since I'm with Kadeem, you wanna start acting different?" I asked trying to get in his head.

He sighed and wiped his hands across his face. "I don't know Stacey. Every time I see you with him I get mad. Every time you mention him I get pissed off. I never wanted you and then when I seen you taken by someone else, something else took over me." He said honestly.

"I don't know what to say." I told him dumbfounded.

"You don't have to say anything Stace. I'll see you around." He said opening the door for me.

I grabbed my bag and placed it on my shoulder. "Maybe things will change but don't be so quick to give up on our friendship." I told him kissing his cheek.

He faked smiled as I made my way out of his house. I walked down the stairs and down the block then crossed the street to my house. I could see Kadeem sitting on the porch.

"Hi baby." I greeted with a big smile as a walked up the steps.

"Hey beautiful." He said pulling me on to his lap. He kissed my neck and I blushed as usual. "Where have you been?" He asked.

"I took a longer way home." I lied.

"Can't be doing that anymore. I'm about to start taking you home myself." He said as we got up.

"I would like that." I retorted as we went into the house.
