The pounding in my head wouldn't stop. I gripped the hair at the top of my head and tried to shake the feeling off.

My breathing started to become erratic and I was crouched over on the floor. The hotel room was dark but the light from the night sky was filling it.

I have to get out of here. Trust no one? Who sent that letter? As I was starting to open up myself to the world I only end up doubting myself.

I changed out of my sleeping clothes and grabbed my longboard. I need some fresh air.

I looked at the analog clock in the lobby. 3:02am. Looks like I'm not getting any sleep tonight.

--------------

The wind was hittting my face as I pushed myself faster on the board. I needed to clear my mind and get away.

I rode down multiple streets passing a few cars driving by. There were barely any people out at this time.

Time was slipping past me and soon enough the sun was starting to rise, turning half the sky into light.

Cars starting filling the streets and people were leaving for work. And there there was me, who was just aimlessly skateboarding around New York. I just went wherever the board took me.

My stomach started to grumble and I spotted a Starbucks down the street. I slowed down and kicked the board up and brought it with me inside the shop.

"Hi, can I have a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin over there?" I ordered pointing at the dessert display case. The girl rang me up and I paid with a ten dollar bill.

I took my hot chocolate and muffin and took a table by myself.

"Hey is anyone sitting here?" someone asked me. I didn't bother to look at them and I shook my head. I took a sip of my hot chocolate and the person sat down with me.

The guy reached his hand over the table and I saw the opal ring on his finger.

Kai.

"How'd you find me," I asked him. He laughed and scratched the back of his head.

"Actually, I woke up this morning and didn't see you so I went out looking. Then I got hungry and here I am!" he explained. I took bites out of my muffin and finished my hot beverage.

"Whatever," I avoided eye contact with him.

I didn't engage in anymore small talk. The note warned me to not 'trust anyone'. To be on the safe side, I'll act like our friendship is still blooming.

"So what happened to you? Why are you in a random Starbucks?" he asked. I can't trust him. I already had an assassination attempt on my life.

"Do you want to come with me to start my new job?" I said ignoring his concern.

"Yeah, okay sure," he said. We stood up from the table and I grabbed my longboard and exited the shop.

We took a taxi to the Ikea the Luna Corp. is hidden behind. Kai tried to hold my hand while we were walking but I took my hand into my pocket and held my board with the other.

The same lady with the white uniform was sitting at the front desk. I gave her my longboard and she took it behind the desk and put it in the back.

I walked to Luna's office without saying a word to Kai.

"Ok, what's up? You're completely ignoring me," Kai pointed out. I didn't bother to turn my head to look at him.

"I just don't feel like talking," I said while pushing my hair behind my ear.
