"Killian, wait. What do you mean I'm with child? Like I'm pregnant? Like I am going to give birth to a baby?!" she shouted in surprise.
I couldn't really tell if she was happy or if she was scared.
"Yes. The nurses informed me that you are indeed. Pregnant. You are due sometime around the fall season. Congratulations," he informed her. I watched as her face become expressionless.
"I can't raise a child. I don't know a thing about babies. I'm only 19 years old. I don't even..Orion isn't even with us anymore," she whispered. She reached for her lower stomach and held her hand there.
"I don't want the baby."
Woah, what?
"What?" Killian responded quickly. She shook her head and took her hand off her stomach.
"I don't want the baby! Whether the baby is a boy or a girl. I do not want him/her," she explained. She didn't open the small box yet.
Killian crutched his way back to the nearby seat. He set the crutches on the floor. "What do you mean? Whh don't you want the baby?"
She sniffled her nose and brought her hand up to her face. "Because I don't want to look into their eyes and see his eyes. I don't want to see them smile and see his smile. I don't want to watch them grow up and see what parts of him they inherited. I don't want to die all over again. I can't take the pain anymore," she said as tears formed in her eyes.
She wanted to forget everything. The past two years. She wanted to delete it all from her memory.
"Are you sure? Are you absolutely sure you do not want the baby?" Killian reassured her. He looked straight into her golden eyes searching for an honest answer.
There were tears falling down her face. She looked at him and responded, "Yes. I will give you full custody and responsibility of the child. You will be their father once I give birth. You will be the one to take care of Orion's child. I can't do it. It hurts too much," she said holding her heart.
What? Doesn't she know that the child is proof that her love with Orion existed! Wait. Well now I know what happened to Orion.
He's dead.
I blinked my eyes at the realization and I was still in a hospital room. The only difference was that instead of Xania sitting on the hospital bed all sad. She was laying on the hospital bed screaming her lungs out.
"OK! PUSH!"
Xania screamed in pain.
"PUSH!"
"TAKE DEEP BREATHS!"
"KEEP BREATHING."
"I AM BREATHING AND PUSHING YOU FOOLS!" Xania screamed out loud.
"YOU'RE ALMOST THERE! THE
HEAD IS PEAKING! PUSH!"I could see Xania was in a lot of pain. She was sweating everywhere. Her face was red from the stress of pushing a baby out of her own vagina.
"ONE LAST TIME! PUSH!"
Xania screamed so loud that I flinched just a little because it was ringing in my ears.
There was a small baby's cries coming and the doctor held up a small little baby.
"It's a girl."
"Do you want to see her?"
I looked at Xania and she looked to the side and at the door of the room. She closed her eyes and shook her head.
