(Gaara's point of view)
As usual I woke before sunrise and started my day. I sharpened my kunai, took a shower, got dressed, and headed out for training. On my way out I checked on Kiara to make sure she was alright. Seeing her steady breathing and her peaceful face I couldn't help but smile.
Target, hit.
Target, hit.
Target, hit.
Four hours of non-stop heavy training and then I decided to take a break. I went back inside to see Kiara just sitting on the couch staring at nothing in particular. Is she okay?
"Kiara?" I asked without even meaning to.
I watched her face turn to me and a smile dawned onto her face.
"Hello Gaara." She greeted.
I wanted to ask what was wrong, I really did, but something told me not to. I walked down the hall, showered, and changed again. I walked back into the livingroom to see her half-hanging off the couch upside down. She really is weird sometimes...
"You look different upsidedown..." She commented thoughtfully. I didn't know what to say, so I simply said nothing at all.
However something in me sank when I saw her look in a different direction and her eyes held a tint of sadness. Regularly, people wouldn't be able to see that pain behind the happiness she displays, but for someone who has known nothing but pain, anguish, and sadness their entire life would be able to tell. So to me, her sadness was as clear as a crystal lake.
But why...
Why was she so sad? Why would she be in this kind of pain? Did I do something? Can I make it better? All these questions berated into my head at once, but the last one I held on to. Maybe I could make her feel better...
I know I can't do much to help since I don't know why shes upset, but the best thing I can do is just be by her side, becuase if there's one thing I know, being alone only makes things worse.
"Come with me." I said to her as I turned around and started to head for the door.
"Whaaa?" I could practically see the startled and confused look on her face. Nevertheless I heard her scramble off the couch and follow in hot pursuit.
"Where are we going? What are we doing?" She asked as she fell into step with me.
"We are going to spar."
"Really!? Yay!" I almost smiled, she was just too cute sometimes.
Once we got to one of the training grounds I tossed her some of my kunai since she didn't bring along her pouch. We started to fight and she was a lot better than I had expected. I mean, I knew she was great, but going against her I could really see it now.
After about ten minutes of sparring I cought something out of the corner of my eye. I knew the black cat ears and purple paint from anywhere. But what does he want right now?
"Hold on Kiara, I will be right back, I can see my brother wants to talk." I tried to hide the agitation I felt at his interruption in an unemotional abyss and it seemed to work.
"Okay." Came her cheery response.
I grudgingly walked over to my annoying little brother.
"What?" I hissed. He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head.
