After attending a panel discussion on the subject of TV shows that feature members of the public, such as reality TV shows and talent competitions, I have learnt that reality TV shows have been very popular throughout the whole globe. However, aspects of reality TV shows are debatable.
Reality TV show have entertained people from all walks of life. Watching reality TV shows have been made as a stress releasing method. It is entertaining because reality TV shows involve non-fictional acts or stunts. Everyone loves the enjoyment of watching people doing stunts in real life.
What i more important than the entertainment of reality and talent TV shows is the experience gained by the participants. It is believed that the experience of losing disappoints the participants. However, I strongly disagree with this statement. When one loses, one will work even harder to overtake the champion. This shows that reality and talent TV shows encourage participants to strive for victory. Besides, participants of all talent TV shows gain confidence and knowledge which can be very useful in the future.
To sum up, I assume the most important aspect regarding these TV shows is the effect on participants. Undeniably, reality and talent TV shows have good effects on the participants. If there is no participants, there will not be any reality and talent TV show.
