Lunar New Year is just round the corner. Well, I celebrate Lunar New Year too. However, we do not call it Lunar New Year. We call it Chinese New Year. Lunar New Year lasts for two weeks until Chap Goh Meh which is Fifteenth Night in a dialect called Hokkein.
The most important thing to be done on Lunar New Year is reunion dinner. As you can see, Lunar New Year is all about meeting family members from far. The best part was receiving red packets. Red packets are given to those who are not married-there is no rules for it. Even married people can be given red packets but it will be awkward.
The Taos will be going to temple for prayers on any day during the fortnight. Please keep in your mind that Taoism and Buddhism are totally different but they are related-I am going to explain in the future. Normally, the Taos went there for guidance from God.
