Being a leader is not easy. In my country, we have co-curriculum's activities which part of it is being one of the board members. However, being part of them is not easy. I am myself a President of The Red Crescent Club-twice, and Vice President Once.
From what I have experienced, it is basically about managing the club under teacher's guide but you have to do all of the talking. Do not get me wrong, it is just about bossing around. You also have to organise some activities for your members so that they do not get bored.
However, a bad leader may destroy a club. You have to know that a leader may not only be president but other places in the board too including form representative. There is no point of being any of the board members just to take extra marks. That is not what I called as work.
In a nutshell, be a true leader you have to be. It is very important. A bad club shows that there is a bad leader behind it. On the contrary, a good club shows that there is a good leader behind it.
