Your POV

Once again I woke up to the dreadful noise of my alarm clock. I turned it off but I refused to move. My eyes were open but my brain was still asleep. I felt Mo jump on top of me and I shot up.

"BOO!" I shouted.

She jolted up and nearly touched the ceiling.

"Meow!"

"he he he, I got ya!" I chuckled. "Don't worry, I have a good reason to get ready today so I'll be able to get up and moving."

She looked at me and twitched her whiskers. She seemed to be smiling.

I went through my normal morning routine. Changing from my pajamas to my uniform, eating breakfast, brushing my hair and teeth, then standing in front of the mirror for one last evaluation. I looked clean and I felt happy. I smiled at myself but then realized something was missing. I wasn't trying to cover up my eyes. Normally that's the first thing I do. It felt weird forgetting about it. I hesitated for a moment before brushing it over my face, doing so made me feel more secure some way. Almost like a child hiding under the covers, it didn't really do anything but it makes me feel better. I nodded satisfied with my look.

I walked outside and my door and closed it behind me. Right across from me was Kurpika's apartment. I stared at the bare door, waiting for it to open and reveal Kurapika ready to go. I waited and waited and waited.

I was actually a really patient person but I started to get worried that we would be late for class. I pressed my ear up against the door, listening if there was any sounds of him getting ready. There was nothing. I nocked slightly and still no answer. I bit my lip as I knew what I was going to have to do.

Okay, since he did it first, it's okay for me to walk in, I thought to myself.

I turned the knob hoping that it would be locked but it turned with ease. I didn't really want to walk in there, it's just plain rude. I peaked my head through the door. "Kurapika? Are you up? We need to go to school."

It felt like I walked in unwelcomed. The walls of his apartment were bare and barely decorated. The whole apartment was silent, every sound I made seemed to carry and echo. Did he really live in here? There was almost no trace of someone actually living in this apartment, aside from a few empty boxes in the corner. The living room had a small sofa and a tv mounted to the wall that just naturally came with the apartment. In the kitchen, there was a fold up table with a single chair.

I found his room. "Kurapika! Are you even up?"

The sudden idea of him leaving without me popped into my mind. What if he left a while ago before I even came out of my apartment? What if he forgot that we were gonna walk together? What if I'm in his apartment and he's not home so this becomes just plain breaking and entering?

My heart jumped as I heard the door open. Although it wasn't his bedroom door, but the door to the bathroom behind me.

"(Y/N)? What are you doing?" He walked out the door completely dressed.

I turned around feeling my cheeks go red. "Um, I was waiting for you outside! B-but you were taking a while and.... I didn't want to be late a-and I thought maybe you forgot and..." My voice trailed off as I slouched down in embarrassment.

He chuckled, "Don't worry. I didn't forget. I just took a bit longer trying to wake up. I haven't had breakfast yet, can you wait a bit more?"

I nodded shyly. I waited by the door and watched as he pulled a granola bar from the cupboard.

"Is that all you're gonna eat?" I asked.

He took a bite out of the bar and nodded.

I gave him a disappointing look. "C'mon, you gotta do better than that!"

"But-"

"I'm gonna make you a breakfast." I sat him down at his fold up table.

Opening up the fridge, there was almost nothing there. Luckily there were eggs so I quickly fried up an omelette.

"Here, eat this quick." I said, placing the paper plate down in front of him. "When we get back from school, we need to go grocery shopping. You're fridge is so empty."

Kurapika's POV

I ate the food that was prepared for me in a rush and we then quickly walked out the door.

"You know you didn't have to do that right?" I said, she trodden along beside me on the sidewalk.

"That granola bar wasn't gonna keep you filled, you need breakfast." She said in a dignified voice. A light shad of pink rose to her cheeks. "Plus... I wanted to do it."

I smiled and looked ahead. Something about her seemed different then yesterday. "You seem more talkative today," I said. I remembered how quiet she was while we ate lunch together.1

"Do I really?" She asked surprised. A serious expression appeared on her face as though she was trying to search deep into her mind for an answer. Then I watched as a small grin appeared on her face. She looked ahead and avoided eye contact but continued talking. The blush on her checks was obvious now. "That's probably because you're so easy to talk too."

I didn't now why, but now I was the one blushing.
