I walked a virgin path
And left my footprints there
As time stood still around me
All that could be heard was the vibrant beating of my heart
The farther down the path I went
A weight on my shoulders began to lift
A sense of clarity washed over me
And all at once all that was lost to me before became crystal clear
And suddenly I knew
That life is not sunshine and rainbows
But neither is it Darkness and Pain
It is a blend, a mix
It is tragedy
It is triumph
It is joy and
It is sorrow
It is laughter and
It is tears
I realized that I could not
Dwell in darkness
Yet still seek light
I could not be ignorant
Yet yearn for knowledge
I realized that to truly break the ties that bind
And finally embrace freedom
I must first embrace myself
Each dip and curve
Each little imperfection
And every strange thought
A strange euphoria overtook me then
And I ran, towards what I have no clue
I looked to the sky and saw true beauty
And for a moment i swear my feet left the ground
I floated among the clouds
The scent of lavender all around
I walked a virgin path
And left my footprints for others to follow
So that they might find this place
Where I kissed the sky in a lavender haze
