Leaving

You tell them you're leaving
But they say they won't let you
Then you cry saying you'll miss them
But when you leave it's good-bye
Even though you text and call
It's never the same at all
You can't replace face to face
The truth is sad so we avoid it
Avoid accepting what will happen
Until it becomes our reality
Right when you leave it's hard
You always talk on the phone
But as the days turn to weeks
Weeks turn to months
And months turn to years
You forget about them
Drift apart from the past
Or you might not
You might stay tied down to it
Depression then creeps in
Reminds you of what you lost
What you left behind
All your time is spent crying
You don't make new friends
Only new distractions
Forever alone in this world
Then when you finally return
Back to were you are from
Nobody remembers you
All your old friends
They've moved on
Forgot about you almost completely
Once reality comes to you
You are standing in shock
Unable to process it
As you fall to the ground crying
Reality grimaces at you
Just humored at your pain
You fell for it's trick like most
Lifeless and cold you return
To were you were traped for so long
When they forgot about you
You say you're leaving
This time, life.
