Regret, Forget

We all shall forget things
It's just natural
Whether it be were our keys are
Or about an old friend
There is no escape from forgetfulness
So remember when you think
You will talk all the time
Be friends forever no matter what
This is all impossible
No matter how close you are
People drift apart when far away
You can't control your memory
It does what it wants
Most of the time it wants to move on
Even when you don't
People make new friends
They leave you behind
Say an old friend instead of friend
Has anyone noticed this before
It's very obvious
When that friend then visits
And you barely remember their name
You regret not texting back
Ignoring their calls
Regret is also natural
We forget things and regret it
As hard as we may try
There is no escaping the reality
More distance between people
The further they drift apart
Even if they once were inseparable
New friends will come
Naturally they drift apart
Very slowly but surely
Until they never talk
This is the reality of moving
Don't expect to stay in touch forever
It never happens ever
