I Love You In a Pick Me, Choose Me, Love Me Kind of Way

That Was Easier Than I Intended...

Meredith and Derek were spending a lot more time together now that Carolyn knew about the two of them. They were becoming more intimate and sharing more about each other. Meredith was still worried about meeting Kathleen at parent teacher conferences. "Derek," Meredith said as they were laying bed. "You okay?" he asked noticing that she sounded a little worried. "I have to meet Kathleen tomorrow," Meredith said. "Just act yourself, don't act any different," Derek said grabbing her hand. "What if she senses something," Meredith asked. "She won't, it'll be fine," Derek said pulling her close. "Thank you," she said laying her head on his chest.

We still haven't said "I love you," Should I tell her? I'm gonna tell her.

"Meredith," Derek said. No response. Crap, she's asleep.

Beep Beep Beep

"Ugh," Meredith said rolling over. "I'll get it," Derek said reaching to turn off the alarm clock. "I don't wanna go to work," Meredith said getting closer to Derek. "You have to meet Kathleen though," Derek said wrapping his arm around her. "Oh, crap I forgot," Meredith said putting her hands over her face. "It'll be fine, I'll even bring you lunch. How does that sound?" Derek said pulling her hands off her face. "Well, that makes it better," Meredith said. "I love you," Derek said. "I-I love you too," Meredith said taken by surprise a little bit. Meredith leaned in closer to Derek and Derek put his hand on her chin pulling her face to his. They kissed, it was a long passionate kiss full of love.

"We should probably get ready for work," Meredith said laughing. "We probably should," Derek said kissing her once more and then getting up. Meredith got around, fed Molly, and then went to work. Derek did the same.

When Meredith got to work she decided to check her phone,

Derek: Since I didn't get to tell you before you left, I love you. I will bring you lunch from Panera later. <3

Meredith smiled when she saw the text,

Meredith: I love you too. I will see you at lunch! <3 I have Kathleen as my first parent this morning...

Derek: You'll be fine. (:

You'll be fine. God, I love him more than words can say.

"Miss Grey?" Meredith looked up from her desk, it was Kathleen. "You must me Kathleen," Meredith said standing up to greet her. "Yes," Kathleen said. "So how's Morgan doing?" Kathleen asked sitting down. "She's great, she's always willing to help and always helping other students. I really enjoying having her in the classroom," Meredith said. "I'm glad, I was kind of worried about her now that she understands the situation with her father, but I'm glad to hear she's doing well," Kathleen said. "She has good grades and everything is looking great," Meredith continued. "Well, I gotta get back to work, thank you so much. It was nice meeting you," Kathleen said getting up. "It was really nice meeting you too," Meredith said smiling and finally letting out that breath she'd been holding in the whole time.

Well, that was fast and awkward. I need to text Derek,

Meredith: Well, Kathleen was here for like 10 minutes. It was fast but awkward. I held my breath the entire time.

Derek: She must've had to get back to work. I told you everything would be fine.

Meredith: I love you, when will you be here?

Derek: I can be there whenever, the shop isn't busy today.

Meredith: I don't have any parents till after lunch, so could you be here in 20 minutes and then just stay till my next parent?

Derek: Sounds perfect! <3

Derek got there just on time and Meredith sure was glad to see him. "You brought me food?!" Meredith asked excitedly. "Well of course I did," Derek said kissing her cheek and going over to her desk. "I want all the details," Derek said. "Well, we talked about Morgan and that was it," Meredith said stuffing her face with her sandwich. "Really?" Derek asked surprised. "Yeah, she didn't want to talk long," Meredith said. "You have a piece of food on your face," Derek said leaning up to get it off. "What would I do without you?" Meredith said with a smile. The rest of the time they talked about Thanksgiving and how they wanted to take a weekend trip, just the two of them.

Meredith only had parents till 2 that afternoon so she went to the shop to see Derek, "Well isn't it Meredith Grey," Mark said as she walked in. "Well Mark, don't I have a reputation to uphold here," Meredith said with some sass. "Well, I think your man is missing you," Mark said pointing to his office. "I don't blame him, I would miss me too," Meredith said walking to Derek's office. "Hey there handsome," Meredith said closing the door behind her. "What are you doing here Mer?" Derek asked. Mer, whenever he called me that I melted. "Well, I only had parents till 2 and I missed you so I decided to stop by," she said sitting at the chair next to Derek's desk. "Well, maybe I could get out of here early and we could spend some time at home, alone," Derek said with a smirk. "I would love that," Mer said smiling.

"Mark, would you mind if I left and went home with Meredith?" Derek yelled at Mark. "In need of some sex?" Mark asked. Derek laughed. "I'm leaving you Mark," he said. "I understand brother," Mark yelled. "Thank you Mark," Meredith yelled. Meredith and Derek walked hand in hand to their cars and drove home where they had a night all to themselves...
