OMG guys! It's been wayyyy too long, I am so so sorry. I do have a short chapter to put up for you guys, super short actually but it is something. I have been so behind and I miss you all so so much. I did win an autographed scrub top from the cast of Grey's Anatomy from the fundraiser I did! Now I did delete my Instagram account merdercaps due to inactivity :( I know some of you really liked that account but I just did not have time to update on there so I deactivated. I am still active on Twitter gleexgreys frequently so you can keep up with me there. Okay here's the chapter I promised!
Beep Beep Beep Beep
"Derek, Derek," Meredith said rolling over in bed and pulling the pillow over her head. "Mer, shut it off!" he said wrapping his arms around her tiny little body. "Derek it's on your side," she giggled. "Oh right, right," he said as he hit it with his hand. "Hm, how'd you sleep?" Derek asked pulling her closer. "Good, actually," she smiled with her eyes still shut. "No nightmares?" Derek asked in a hopeful tone. "No nightmares." she reassured him as she rolled over to face him. "Meredith, that's great! That's so good sweetie!" he said kissing her forehead. Meredith could see the excitement on his face, Derek really did care. She knew he did but he was ecstatic that she slept well and that meant more to her than anything. It really was the little things. Meredith smiled and leaned into his chest, she could feel his heart beating under his tshirt, it was comforting. "We should go on a walk, the sun is shining, it's beautiful," she said looking up at him. "Okay," Derek nodded. Meredith was feeling better, Derek knew just by the tone of her voice. She was more hopeful than the day before and that made his heart swell with love for her. They laid in bed in silence for a little longer, they could see the sun peak through the windows, it looked like springtime outside. They were comfortable laying their together and there was no place either of them would rather be.
"Well, it's 8:30 we should probably get up if we are gonna go on this walk," Derek laughed. "Yeah, we should," Meredith said. They both got up and changed into their clothes for the day, Meredith had on a pair of leggings and windbreaker and Derek put on some jeans and a plain shirt. They didn't have big plans for the day, just some little things. Meredith walked downstairs to make her avocado toast with egg and to feed Molly. "Derek" Meredith yelled. "What? Meredith," he said as he walked downstairs and saw her curled up next to Molly sobbing, "Oh my god Meredith, no" he frowned running over to her. "Derek I-I knew something was wrong, she wasn't at our bedroom door, she didn't meet me in the kitchen, I-Derek" she managed to get out through sobs. "Meredith," he said tears welling up in his eyes. Meredith was better this morning but her lifelong friend was gone and he couldn't do anything about it. "Meredith, come here," he said pulling her into his chest. Meredith was curled up in a ball while Derek rubbed her back and held her. He had no idea what to do with Molly, he didn't have a place to bury her and he didn't know a vet around. "Derek, I-I what do we do?" she said looking up at him. "Meredith, I don't know baby, but we will figure it out okay." he said looking into her sad eyes. She nodded. He stood up and grabbed a blanket and put it over Molly, he had something figured out. "Meredith, lets go, I know a place." Derek said helping her up.
They drove for what seemed like forever, Derek held her hand the entire way while she looked out the window. "Okay, Mer, we're here." Derek said unbuckling and getting out. He went around to her side of the car and helped her out before grabbing the shovel he had tossed in. They were in Mer's favorite place to hike. There was a beautiful view and a quiet stream not too far away. He placed Molly down in the ground and covered her up with just enough dirt and put a little rock on it. Meredith hugged him, "Thank you," she said kissing him. "She was a good dog," he said kissing her head. "She was."
Meredith's heart was broken but she still wanted to go for a small hike. Derek was her person and as long as he was Meredith knew she would be okay. She knew Molly's time was coming to a close she just put it to the back of her head, she didn't want to accept it but today she had to. "Babe, look" Derek said rubbing her shoulder. A huge house with a spectacular view of Seattle was right in front of them. "Oh my god, Derek," Meredith said in awe. Derek smiled, "Come here," he grabbed her hand and started walking towards the house. "Derek what are we doing? This is someone's house." Meredith said confused. As they drew closer to the front door Derek pulled out a pair of keys and unlocked the door. "What the hell Derek?" Meredith said cracking a small smile. "Welcome home baby" he said throwing his hands up in the air. "Derek-I don't-" she said trying to process everything. "That afternoon after we had lunch I talked to the realtor and she cut us a deal, that's why I said we couldn't buy the other one." he said with the biggest smile on his face. "It's ours?" Mer asked. "It's ours." he said as she hugged him. "Home." she said before kissing him. "You are a sneaky man Derek Shepherd." she said as she fell in love with him all over again. "Anything for you,"
