Back in my own bed the following morning the only thing stopping me closing my eyes for forty more winks is the sound of Aston's alarm constantly repeating in the room next door. It didn't feel right sleeping in the same bed last night, I knew sleep wouldn't be on Aston's mind and I couldn't face talking my way out of that.

It's six o'clock, what is he playing at?!

"Aston," I moaned pushing the door open a few inches.

Mumbling he rubbed his eyes laying sprawled out on the bed.

"It's too early."

"Sorry babe."

Reaching over to turn his alarm clock off on the bedside table he pulled back the corner of the duvet.

"Come here, lay with me."

"I have work."

"Like you said, it's early."

Frowning I shuffled over and joined him in bed, snuggling under his arm wrapped around my shoulder.

"What time do you start?" he asked.

"Nine," I sighed.

"Don't sound so glum."

"It's not going to be like any other day at work though is it, I'm with Kelly and without Clare, all day."

He didn't answer that.

"So if I'm late with a slapped face and sore palms you know why."

"Hey, don't be stupid, things aren't that bad."

"I told you how bad things were Aston."

"Alright, okay. Lets not go there again, please."

"I just don't understand why she's lied, something's going on and I want to know what. I don't want to fight, but if she does then I'm certainly game."

Frowning he tightened his grip around me.

"What? she's caused this."

"Exactly, so keep it that way. I've forgotten it so you should too."

Somehow I don't think my day at work will be plain sailing, not if I know Kelly as much as I think I do. She's sure to have more tricks up her sleeves.

Drifting in and out of sleep in Aston's arms we eventually agreed to get up at seven before we lay late, it's just one of those mornings where eight hours sleep isn't enough.

"Go have your shower first, I'll do breakfast," Aston said shuffling over to the kitchen.

"Thank you. I'll have tea this morning."

"Alright."

Shutting myself in the bathroom I Switched on the shower and undressed stepping inside letting the hot water pour down my face, that and the mint shower gel is working wonders for my tired eyes. Freshly washed hair brushed down my shoulders I dried myself off and wrapped a bath towel around my body to wander back to my bedroom.

"Give me two minutes to get changed," I said to Aston already spreading jam across my toast.

Simply putting on some underwear and my nightdress I went back to my breakfast with a rumbling stomach.

"This looks good," I smiled.

"It's just toast babe."

"It wasn't just toast the last time you used the toaster."

"Alright, fair point," he chuckled.

"Did you put sugar in this?" I asked.

"Milk, two sugars."
