Chapter 8: Dangerous Woman

{D. K}

"Look who decided to show up."

Rebekah gave Dakota a dimpled smile, her pearly white teeth display as the two going to briefly hug. "It's good to see you again, Dakota. Death didn't suit you." Her blue eyes searched around the room. "Where's Elijah? He's not answering the phone."

"That's actually why I called you, Bekah. Klaus daggered Elijah and he left with his body and I don't know where he took it."

"You didn't follow him?"

Brown eyes rolled on their own accord, and one side of Dakota's hips popped out to support an awaiting hand. "Sorry, in case you forgot I'm carrying Klaus' miracle baby and I'm lacking immortality. I wouldn't have been able to catch up if I tried."

Rebekah's feet stomped across the wood floors, the black wedges she was wearing making loud clacking sounds, her voice twice as loud as she yelled across the house. "Klaus, get out here and tell me what you've done with our brother, you narcissistic, back-stabbing wanker!"

A pair of white doors opened simultaneously, showing a Klaus dressed in all black, two necklaces adorning his neck. "Enough with all the shouting. Little sister, I assume the six dead vampires are your doing," Klaus began, completely ignoring the real reason why Rebekah's accented voice was screeching for him.

"They were very rude, just like Dakota said. Sorry though, were they friends of yours?" The blonde paused for a moment, her tongue clicking against the roof of her mouth. "They couldn't have been though, you don't have friends."

At the small jab, Klaus seemed hurt, his face stiffening up, lips pressing together. "I do have friends," He corrects simply. "I have Marcel. Of course you remember him, he calls himself the King of the Quarter and he has a rule about killing vampires. It should be fun seeing what sort of punishment he conjures up for you."

Rebekah's teeth gritted together. "I don't care about Marcel or his rules. Elijah hasn't answered any of my calls. What'd you do to him?"

A sly smile grew on Klaus' face, his form sinking down onto the chair behind him. "Maybe he's on a holiday, or taking a long autumn nap upstairs. Go take a look around."

Even knowing that Dakota said he had taken the body elsewhere, Rebekah went looking around the home she seemed very familiar with. "What is your problem?" Dakota snapped at Klaus she his sister was out of sight.

Klaus looked down at the woman he was in love with, the woman carrying his child. While their eyes remained locked on the other, Klaus could still see the fire burning brightly in her eyes. "You, you're my problem. You died, Dakota, in my arms. I watched you die, I felt your heart stop beating. I visited your grave everyday, and then one time you just materialize out of thin air and for a night I had you back but I knew that before the sun came up the next that there was a possibility that you wouldn't be there when I woke up, so I left."

"You left Klaus!" She repeated, emphasizing the subject of the sentence with an accusatory finger. "You didn't bother hanging onto the hope that I very well could've still been laying in your arms the next morning, but you left. It was a choice Klaus, it's not like you were forced to do it."

"I couldn't take that chance, Dakota." He threw his hands up in he air. "I am so in love with you that it makes me want to be better and just be happy with you. But every time we have a moment of happiness, something destroys it and we're back at phase one."

She went quiet, her teeth biting hard on her bottom lip. "Then you should've fought like hell to make sure it wouldn't be ruined. You gave up though, Klaus. You stopped fighting."

"I am fighting."

Klaus' hands reached towards her, begging to touch her skin, but he was rejected when she took several steps away from him, her back colliding with a wall. "You are, but you're fighting all the wrong people."

Dakota was in her room that same night, dressing in all black, a sultry deep V-cut top showing ample amount of cleavage that had grown significantly larger after the pregnancy. Her eyes were coated in mascara and wing was on her eyelids and red lipstick resided on her lips. "Where's my brother?"

"Which one?"

Rebekah's shot Dakota a look that she chuckled at. "Klaus."

She bent over, picking up a pair of strappy heels that made her legs look miles long in the ripped black jeans she wore. "He went off to have another drink with Marcel."

"And where are you going?"

"I'm going to crash a party. The men in this family are too dense to see the real picture, leaving us women to do the job on our own."

The blonde didn't object. "Well I'm going with you, there's no way you're going by yourself. I'm driving though." The pair strutted to the car, Rebekah taking drivers seat and Dakota sitting in passenger. They pulled out of the driveway, the car cruising down the streets. " How come you didn't leave when you found out Elijah was daggered?"

"I tried," Dakota admitted. "But the witches have a strong desire to keep be here because I can't step a foot outside New Orleans."

Rebekah raised a dirty blonde brow. "Why don't you ask those Bennett witches for help?"

"Bennett's and I had a deal that they'd be of assistance to me if I protected their family, but that was when I was a vampire. I'm useless now and they withdrew all ties. The Deverauex's have decided to fill in that gap apparently."

"Is it worth it?" Rebekah asked again, shooting a plethora of questions at Dakota to fill in the silence as she drove. "Dying just to become human."

Dakota gave Rebekah a look out of he corner of her eye, not missing the sound of jealousy in the blondes voice. "My death wasn't by choice, and I fully expected to be gone for good. It is worth it though, it seemed to work much better than the cure would've. What ever happened to that thing anyway?"

She shrugged her bare shoulders. "Damon Salvatore was he last person to have it."

The brunettes eye closed at the sound of his name, memories surfacing and making her heart swell with longing for her friend. "I hope he took it for himself. He probably did now that I think about it. Damon would've done anything for dopplebitch."

"That's how Elijah is, he will do anything for his family."

"Your right. Elijah may've made a deal with Marcel for Klaus, but me and him made a little deal of our own." Rebekah didn't speak, she simply looked Dakota's way, waiting for her to continue. "After I have the baby, he's going to turn me."
