Chapter 24: Unleash the Monster from Hell

{D. K}

"How do I look?" Dakota walked into Klaus' study, a skin tight while dress hugged her every curve, a cheeky neckline showing ample amount of cleavage that had grown since her pregnancy.

Beside Klaus, Marcel stood, his eyes traveling the way to glance up and down Dakotas body that was leaning sensually in the doorway—a show meant entirely for the hybrid. "Like you should've saved that for my eyes only."

"Get your insecure underpants out of your ass, I'm carrying you child, I don't have the energy to flirt with other men—especially someone like Marcel."

Seeming offended by the comment, he flinched back. "What's wrong with me?"

Dakota shook her head, the curls that her hair was in bouncing against her cheeks and tickling  her exposed neck. "You're a handful."

"What about him?" Marcel pointed at the hybrid who'd moved to his girlfriend, pulling her down with him to take a seat on his lap.

"He's two, which is why I've got no room for you or any other man." Dakota stopped after she realized how thick the air was before she'd walked into the room. Looking between both men, she furrowed her brows. "What's going on here?"

Klaus rubbed his hands on her thighs, his beard scratching at her shoulder. "Davina's missing and we've got to find her before someone else does."

"Why would she just leave, Marcel? I thought you were the only one she trusted."

"Apparently Marcel didn't tell our little witch that the lays Elder was dead—the last living with that could perform the Harvest spell and end Davina's life."

Dakota looked out window, seeing a large party of vampires gathered—Elijah Mikaelson standing in the middle. "How many people know about her disappearance?"

Marcel shrugged. "It's New Orleans, nothing. stays a secret long. Why do you ask?"

"A powerful witch that controls the use of magic for everyone in the entire Quarter is alone and by herself with no protection. Other than the vampires you've got looking for her, who else will want her more than you?"

"Any other witch in the Quarter."

        "More specifically, Sophie Deveraux."

The city was vibrant with light and colors. Costumes were seen everywhere mimicking the legend of the coffin girls. Females were dressed in white gowns, their faces and other parts of their bodies covered in faux blood.

Loud music pounded in Dakota's ears as she danced along in the parade. "What are you doing out here? I told you to stay home."

"No," Dakota wagged a finger at him, a teasing smile on her fair face. "You said stay out of trouble, I'm not in trouble."

Klaus looked around, blue eyes continuing the search for the teenage witch that harbored more power than one could imagine. "You are now," He held her hand, guiding her through the large mass of people until he'd met back up with Marcel and Elijah. "We've gained an unexpected guest tonight gentleman, so let's keep tonight as civil as possible."

"Civil?" A voice called from behind Klaus, his large eyes frightful. On his back was a black case fit for a violin.

        "Who's that?"

The group moved away from all the people until they were in an area without a single soul. "Our leverage." Without having been asked, Klaus took off his leather jacket, resting the warm material on Dakota's shoulders. "Little witch won't be able to resist saving her little crush."

"You threatened a teenage girl with a boy? I thought you said you were being civil?"

        "I am."

Elijah placed a hand on his brothers shoulder. "You and I have very different definitions of civil."

Klaus smirked, turning to face the girl once she'd made it. "Hello, Davina. I apologize in advance for my rude invitation, I tend to go overboard sometimes, but you know what they say about desperate times."

"Actually, I do," Raising her hand, Klaus fell to his knees, bones breaking as Davina turned him forcefully into a wolf, making it as painful as possible.

Marcel took a step forward, an attempt to help calm her down, but Davina had used her powers to send Marcel to the ground unable to move.

"Davina, stop!" Dakota screeched in turmoil, watching Klaus yell out in pain, his bones snapping like branches under the witch. Breaking from Elijah's tight grasp, Dakota ran forward but before she could reach her beloved a bloodcurdling scream came from Dakota's lips.

Elijah rushed forward, catching Dakota before she fell to the ground, blood making a large stain on the front of the white dress. "What have you done?"

Davina looked down at her hands, unknowingly lifting the power she'd had on the other vampires. "It was an accident."

Klaus rushed over to his girlfriend, biting into his wrist and coaxing his blood into her mouth, whispering soothing words in her ear as he had her nestled on his lap. There were tears streaming down the side of her face at the pain she'd experienced, the fear for her child overpowering anything the witch had done. "I'm not keeping you to use you, Davina. I'm keeping you because you're a danger to others and to yourself and the only person who can help you, is us."

Davina remained frozen in her spot, her watering eyes staring at her hands that were shaking before her. Marcel took cautious steps towards her until he was close enough to wrap arms around her, allowing her to fall into his arms, hard sobs wracking her body. "I didn't mean it, Marcel. There was just so much power and I couldn't stop."

        "We'll help you, I promise."

"Marcel, I'm scared. I don't know what's wrong with me and I'm afraid we won't be able to stop it."
