A/N: Attention -> language + longest chapter so far (2 left)

Descending the stairs, the room getting darker, I couldn't ignore the knots forming in my stomach. The smell of blood and other excreta made me sick and I would throw up any second if there wasn't this fear of getting punished if I moved without consent. Scott struggled for the first few seconds after realizing that the gun wasn't loaded and didn't contain any bullets despite the fact that he had checked for them a few seconds before our run towards the bathroom. A punch against his groin muted him and made me bite my tongue to the point where I myself drew blood and had no other choice than to swallow it. Blood, the vital principle, life, the fluid that circulates in our system. So important yet so delicious for its predators. One drop and every so peaceful creature turned into a slaughter machine. Avi's father didn't wait until the poor boy got hurt somewhere by someone else oh no; he violated Avi himself and it made my blood boil. How much of this anger could I take before I would drop dead?

The basement consisted of nothing but one large room, prison bars as a door sealing the entrance, not even Avi in his thin state could slip through them. No escape, no exit, captured, locked up. He kicked open the door and threw first Scott then me inside, hovering over us, making him appear even bigger and more powerful than he already was. The impact with the ground wasn't unfamiliar for me but my blonde friend took in the blow and rubbed his reddened knees while sitting with his back against the wall. Immediately, after gaining my senses back such as eyesight in the nearly complete darkness, I searched the room for the love of my life and I  swore I died when I saw him. He didn't look like the guy we've taken in anymore..

Flesh teared apart, slashed, skin looking like a battlefield.
His clothes shattered around him, showing his chest where an X was marked with black paint; there, where his heart was still beating.
Head hanging low, his long hair covering his eyes, blood dripping from it.

Only through the movement of his chest and the fact that he was sitting upright told me that he was still amongst the living and I already knew how this day would end: Somehow we would get out of here, with Avi, with Scott and without the bastard, studying our bodies so intensely I could feel it without even looking at him. Revolting old man. As he stood in front of us I turned my attention away from Avi and to him. His mind must've been worse than the one of a thousand rapists, a million murderes and a billion assholes. That was fact and I wouldn't change my mind, never, not when it came to him.

"What do you want?"

Speaking wasn't the cleverest thing to do in this situation but what else could I do? I wasn't as strong as him; every move towards Avi would worsen our state and we didn't have any weapons, so why not fight with words or find out what his purpose on this earth was? He scoffed and kneeled down, both of us staring at one another, the world around us disappearing.

"You invaded my personal space so the real question is,what do you want?"

I want to know who the hell set you into this world. Who the fuck you think you are. Which right you have to treat Avi like that! Why you had the disgusting need to destroy him beyond repair!
Of course I kept those thoughts for myself. Too risky at the moment.

"I want to know what he did to you."

Scott kept rubbing his aching knees but tried to catch a glimpse of my eyes. He always knew if I was being honest, what I felt and what I thought by looking into my eyes. I didn't know how he did that but he was the only person in this entire world capable of doing so and I knew that he couldn't believe how calm I sounded. The man raised an eyebrow and slowing got onto his feet again, taking a few steps until he reached Avi to kneel before him. He took a fistful of Avi's hair and janked his head up, slamming it against the wall. We didn't hear a hiss, a scream or a whimper. Avi was used to it and it hurt to possess that kind of knowledge. I gritted my teeth, hands into fists but body laying limp against the concrete. Holding Avi's chin in his right hand the man moved the smaller guy's head, jolting it from left to right, the student could barely keep his eyes open.

"This one? Oh he did nothing, absolutely nothing..."

He let go of his head and punched him in the stomach, blood shooting out of the boy's mouth. Tears welled up in my eyes seeing the red liquid leaving Avi's internal organs.

"He did nothing good! He-ruined-my-life!"

With every word of his last sentence he hit him harder, causing my angel to fall forward and to hold his thin stomach. Scott stood up but didn't move when he faced the barrel of a gun, resting in the man's left hand.

"Sit down, pretty boy. You don't want me to shoot right at your handsome face, do you?"

No he didn't, so he sat down again and massaged his temples, furious about his inability to step in.

"Now, where were we, hmm Avriel?"

With the heavy boots he pushed the student down onto the ground, nearly burying him with the bare force in his leg. He didn't move, his face turned towards me, eyes closed but eyelids fluttering. He was scared I could tell, this must've been new for him..

"Since you asked so kindly, I will grant you some answers, princess."

The nickname leaving his mouth made its way to the list of my personal most hated words. He stepped down of Avi and I could see the imprints of his boots on Avi's back, red and deep, nearly permeating his bones to make them crack. He picked Avi up from the ground and threw him in front of me, my eyes closing at the splashing sound coming from his blood soaked body when he landed.

"He took the love of my life away from me!"

Listening closely I took a few breaths to open my eyes and see Avi's nearly lifeless body mere inches away from me and my healing touch. Love. Who would ever choose him over any of the other 7,4 billion people in this world?

"Shelly was even more beautiful than a thousand angels combined. Her voice enchanting me whenever she spoke, her looks so mesmerizing and beautiful, she stole my heart the second I saw her leaving the office."

The way he spoke about her made me wonder who the man was. How could he be both, so passionate about love and life but so evil when it came to death and hate? Avi's skin began to become paler with each passing second, the blood didn't stop floating out of his body. I had to do something.. anything..!

"Then the scumbag of a man came along, she broke up with me, they got together, married, and got him.."

Growling he told me the story of his destroyed life while glaring at my love.

"When she died during childbirth I knew that there was only one way to cure my hurt..."

"You stole Avi from his parents.."

"Bingo."

My breath hitched, finally putting one and one together. The graveyard. The tombs. The dates. His mother died when he was born, he died at the same day. Why? So no one would wonder where the child was, assuming he had died immediately. But what about Michael, Avi's real father? The man knew I thought about it and went on to fulfill the story about his past and to explain the reason Avi had to be punished.

"His father was nothing than an irritating fly to me. He would do anything to keep this excuse of a human being. Trying to get his baby boy from me, so..."

He pointed the gun at Avi's head and gave me a sickening smile, shrugging innocently as if I would forgive him for his sins.

 "...I shot him."
