The Angel of Death

To Darian's and Alayken's amazement, Janet did what they never even imagined was possible. She swiftly and suddenly rolled on to her side, making Alayken loose his balance in the process. He fell forward with outstretched arms to break his fall, but wasn't prepared for the kick Janet delivered to his shinbone, making him fall down little more forward into the opening of the freezing container. His upper body dangerously dangling in it.

He fernaticly tried to search for something to hold on but there wasn't anything so he did what Janet thought he would, he caught Darian's hand. She immediately let Darian's hand go and jumped to sit astride on Alayken's back, pinning him beneath her weight. Slight as it was but her weight was enough prevent him to slip down in the freezing container.

"Don't you dare leave his hand now Alayken or I'll let you follow him in there." She said dangerously and slumped down in relief a little as he just nodded.

She desperately thought of screaming for Tessa but knew it would only bring Tiatan's unwanted attention to them and she had no doubt that that would be their end. Then what she should do? What other options she has? Because she had to do something and do it now. Darian was already showing the signs of freezing from inside out.

Tiatan saw the girl in front of him, and couldn't help but smile at her pathetic attempt to stand up to him.

"What are you waiting for mortal? Come forward and attack" he said moving in the semi circle with Tessa.

"I don't want to attack." She said copying his steps, and moving in the semi circle too, and keeping her distance all the while.

"Why you asked to fight me, if you don't want to attack?" He asked eyeing her disgustingly, like one would look at a worm struggling to out run an approaching boot.

"I only wanted to defend myself" she said keeping her eyes locked with his and ready for any sudden move the warlock may attempt.

"Some of you mortals are so bound by righteousness that it feels really easy to kill them. Look at you, you don't want to attack me even when you know you are going to die. First I'll kill you and the puppy you so want to save" Tiatan said and took a step towards Tessa.

"I don't think so you would be able to do any of that my friend" Stefan said calmly walking between Tiatan and Tessa.

Tiatan narrowed his eyes and smiled before saying "Never thought you would make it till here Stefan"

"Stefan!!!" Tessa gasped, her heart fluttered at hearing his name and realizing it was Stefan who suddenly walked between her and Tiatan. All her attention was at Tiatan so she wasn't even aware that they had an audience and when he made himself known she thought it was Darian. His back was to her so she couldn't see his turquoise green eyes to recognize him.

Now hearing her gasp his name, he looked over his shoulder at her. There eyes met and it was almost impossible to look away for either of them for sometime. It may have been only few hours, but so much has passed between the time they last seen each other. There was so many questions she wanted to ask him and he really wanted to apologies to her for all the wrong things he had done to her, but they knew it was not a time or place for such things. A silent message passed between them and he looked back at Tiatan, saying "You'll be surprised to know what all I am capable of"

"Really? Then how about stepping away while I finish my job then I'll sit with you and I promise to listen to your all glorious accomplishments Angel of Death. " Tiatan said sarcastically.

Stefan flinched at that name, that came along with the cursed sword he foolishly acquired. Tessa saw it and even Tiatan noticed. He laughed at his discomfort and said "Oh I am sorry, I forgot you didn't tell you mortal love much about your past. Did you? How you turned on your own family. How you planned to kill your own brother and how you killed innocent people of an entire village."
