Chapter 5 || First Day

I wake up to TJ beside my bed sooking, I think she wants to go outside to do her business or she just wants some love and attention. I yawn,  stretch and look at the time on my phone. It reads 7:56. I guess I may as well let TJ outside and give her, her morning bowl of treats and water.

I get out of bed to my ensuite, I wash my face and start to walk downstairs. TJ follows behind and scratches at the back door, I open it to find a small but gorgeous layout, it's not too big or too small, it's perfect for TJ's size.

I watch her as she run around with her tiny legs. She marks her territory, while I let her do that, I'm going to get out her treats and water. As I walk back inside I walk into the kitchen to find my mom sitting down at the breakfast bench reading a newspaper and holding a cup of coffee.
"Good Morning" I say quietly. She bobs her head up and smiles.
"Morning Lay" she says.
"How was your sleep ?" I ask as I take out TJ's treats.
"It was great" she says.
"That's good, you staring work today ?" I ask.
"No I'm not until Wednesday" she says.
"Oh okay, so are you okay with looking after TJ while I'm at school ?" I question.
"For sure, where is she by the way ?" She asks the turning around on the bar stools.
"She's wondering around the backyard, oh and the back patio is really pretty" I said.
"Oh yeah, it's is, I can't way to play in the garden" she says excitedly.
"Yeah haha" I laugh. I pour water into TJ's water bowl and place it down inside the back door and place her treat bowl on the opposite side. She comes racing I huffing and wagging her tail.
"Hey missy, did you have fun ?" I squeak and bob down to scratch her little tummy. This causes her to wag her tail even more. I chuckle to myself and head upstairs to get ready for the first day of school.

As I head downstairs with my backpack and skateboard I see TJ sitting at the front door salking.
"I'm really sorry TJ but you can't come with me to school today, mom is going to be here today to look after you anyways, she just has some unpacking and organising to do today" I say as I crouch down and give TJ a sad smile. She does a mini howl in what I think is her trying to talk to me. I stand back up and pick TJ up with, I walk towards the back patio, open the door and let her out, that'll keep her busy for a while out there. She should get to know her new home. I come back inside and head to the front door after I grab an apple.
"I'm leaving mom" I yell out.
"Okay, have a lovely day Laylani" she yells back.
"Cya" I yell.
"Bye Bye" she yells back.

I walk out the front door shutting it behind me. I walk down the little set of stairs and grab out my phone from my pocket. I type in :
'New York Central High School'
It comes up and I put my skateboard down and start following the path. It says it's only 10 minutes away and it's only 8:30, school starts at 9.

My phone says 'You have reached your destination'. I put the navigator app off and pick up my skateboard.

The school is pretty big, students spread right across the school yard huddled up in groups. I walk through the school gates and someone taps on my shoulder. I turn around to see a pretty brunette grinning at me.
"Aahhh hey" I say.
"Hello, you must be new, my name is Heather Desirae, and you are ?" She chirps and sticks her hand out for me to shake it.
"My name is Laylani Georgia, nice to meet you Heather" I say shaking her hand.
"So shall I show you around ?" She asks.
"That would be helpful Thankyou, but oh, I should get my timetable first" I stop in my tracks.
"Yeah we'll get that first and see what subjects you have first and I'll take you to them" she shrugs and smiles.
"Okay thanks" I say smiling back.

I usually don't do people but here I am thinking that this girl is going to be my BFF. Wow. What is wrong with me, she seems nice though so I shouldn't diss her.

As she drags me down the halls I notice that there a lot of people staring and whispering to others. I ignore it and follow where Heather takes me.

We finally come to a stop in what seems to be the administration building.
"Hey there Red, we have a new student, her name is Laylani Georgia, do you have a timetable for her ?" Heather asks the receptionist.
"Of course, but first what grade is she in ?" Red asks.
"12" Heather says.
"Okay" Red says.

Red finally hands me my timetable.
"I have chemistry first" I say looking up at Heather first.
"I do too" she squeals.
As she she drags me through the hallways we stop in front of a classroom that says 'Chem'. We walk in and we're the first people here.
"Where is everyone ?" I ask looking around.
"They will be here in a few minutes, I just wanted you here earlier so that no one stares at you when you walk in, it's better for you to come in first so you can stare at them" she laughs. I chuckle back and take a seat in the corner of the back row.
"Does anyone sit here ?" I ask looking at Heather.
"Nah, no one likes sitting in the back, I don't know why though" she shrugs.
"Oh okay, more for me then" I half smile. She laughs in response and takes a seat next to me.

I know I said that Raffael was suppose to come in this chapter but I had other plans on how Laylani and Raffael meet 😄💕
