"What's going on between you and Laylani ?" I ask Raffael.
"Nothing" he says passing the basketball to me. I see Laylani coming into the gym.

We lock eyes and her face heats up, she quickly looks away and I smirk to myself.

I turn back around to find Raffael frowning.

He can learn to suck it.

• || Laylanis P.O.V || •

I look around the gym and spot Toby and Raffael shooting hoops. Toby turns around and we lock eyes. I feel my face heat up so I quickly turn around.

I search the bleachers to see if I can find Heather. I spot her in the corner speaking to a cheerleader.

I walk up there and sit down next to her. She looks at me.
"Hey" she says smiling.
"Hey" I say smiling back. She goes back to speaking to the cheerleader. I glance back at Toby and Raffael and Toby is already looking at.

What is his problem ?

Just forget it.

I get interrupted from my thoughts by the gym teacher coming in.
"Righto class, today we are playing dodge ball and basketball" he announces.
"Two teams, volunteers on Team Captains ?" He asks.

A few people raise their hand, Toby being one and Raffael being another.
"Okay, Toby and Raff choose your team members, Raff first" he says.

"Okay, Leo" Raffael says.
"Marcus" Toby says.
"Jacob" Raff says.

After a few minutes of them picking out who they want, it comes me and this injured cheerleader.

"Laylani and Jess, pick who will go with who" couch announces.

I look between Raff and Toby...

Well Toby chose Heather over me and Raff chose Sydney over me so...
"How about neither ?" I suggest resting my head on my knuckles.
"Cut the attitude, 20 suicides now !" Couch screams. I flinch at his suddden outburst and get up immediate.
"Jesus" I mumble.

I don't look at Toby or Raffael, I just walk past them giving them the cold shoulder.

I walk out of he gym to the oval. I start at the soccer posts and run to the other side of the field.

Joyful.

I'm up to my 18th suicide and I get interrupted by a cough. I look over and see Toby. I slow down and catch my breath back.
"What ?" I snap.
"Calm your farm, just checking up on you, Coaches orders" he smirks leaning against the soccer post.
"Toby, what's your intentions ?" I ask eyeing him.
"What do you mean ?" He asks.
"Why do you act annoyed when I'm with Raffael and when I'm not with him your just cocky" I say sitting in the ground because my legs are aching. He shrugs and walks off.
"Ass" I say loud enough for him to hear. He flips me off and turns around and winks.

Wtf ?

I walk back into the gym and everyone is busy watching the stand off Toby and Raffael ? are having in dodgeball. I go and sit over on the bleachers and wait for them to finish.

Raffael suddenly throws the ball and Toby obviously is taken back by it snd the ball hits him square on his nose. I heard a slight crack.
"Toby!" I scream. I race over to him.
"I'll take you to the nurses office" I say. All he did was nod.

I pulled him up and supported his arm around my shoulder.
"Thankyou" I heard him mutter. I acted as though I didn't hear that, so I kept on walking.

"How'd you do this ?" Mrs Smith, the nurse, asked Toby.
"I was playing dodgeball and I wasn't looking so I got hit in the face" Toby says.
"Someone not happy with you ?" She asks.
"Why ask that ?" Toby asks.
"Well this is a pretty harsh nose break" she says.
"Mmhhmm" Toby mumbles.
"Anyway, I'll put a few bandages on it, give you a pass and you can leave, do you have a way to get home ?" She says.
"I'll take him home" I say. She turns to me and smiles.
"I'll give you a pass too" she says.
"Thankyou" I say.
"No worries" she says. She turns around and collects the bandages.

Toby turns to me.
"Thanks" he says smiling.
"It's okay" I say.

"So why did Raffael throw the ball so hard at you ?" I ask getting into my car with Toby going over to the other side.
"Before I answer that,-" he gets cut off.
"How'd I get a car like this yeah blah blah" I say.
"Ah yeah.." He trails off.
"Long story short, my dad was worth a lot and I guess I got a bit of money, took a while to get the difference over the years though" I continue.
"Oh ok, sorry for your loss" he states.
Wait... He doesn't pity me ? I wants expecting that.

I snort to myself and start the car.
"So where do you live ?" I ask.
"There a chance I could hang at yours until 6 ?" He asks cringing.
"Mkay" I say driving out of the parking lot.
"Reason why is because my parents don't get home from work until 6:30 and I forgot to get the spare house key" he says.
"All goods, but I have to meet up with my brother this afternoon at the mall with his new girlfriend" I say remembering.
"Thanks, yeah that's okay, I'll tag along" he says.

"So umm, the Raffael situation ?" I ask looking over at him raising a brow. He looks over at me and his facials soften.
"Well, about that, Laylani, I ahh... ILikeYou" he mumbles quickly.
"Pardon ?" I ask.
"I Like you" he coughs looking away.
"Toby.." I trail off.
"It's fine, you don't have to like me back, it's just that Raffael isn't letting me get close with you, he likes you too and.. And I'm getting annoyed that in letting him do this to me-" he says.
"Wow, wow, wow, he is preventing you from getting closer to me ?" I ask shocked.
"Yeah" he says.
"And he likes me too ?" I ask.
"Yeah" he agrees.
"And..." I trail off.
"And yeah" he says.
"Okay" I say.
"Why didn't you tell me you like me ?" I ask looking over at him frowning.
"I-I don't want you to like me if you already like Raffael" he says.
"But Toby, how could you huddle yourself up like that ?" I ask ruffling his hair. He gives me a sad smile.
"Don't worry" he says. He grabs my hand that is resting on the glove box and slides his hand into mine and pulls them up to his lips. He pecks the back of my hand softly and then keeps our hands connected on his lap. Fiery electricity shocks my body in delight. I shiver and blink a few times.
