Chapter 40 || School AKA Paradise

I hear someone yell heads but I didn't think it would come down falling onto my head. I fall down and the ball bounces off.
"Owww" I groan at the impact of the soccer ball hitting my head. It was just 10 seconds that I decided to crack my back and bend my legs and a ball hits me. And who was controlling the ball ? I sit up and everyone runs passed me after the ball. I rub my head and stand up.
"Get up Georgia !" Coach booms. I shake off the pounding of my head and run after the ball.
"Lay !" I hear someone call my name. I look over to see one of the cheerleaders kicking the ball over to me. I stop and juggle it then kick it over to a team member ahead of me. He gets it and kicks it into the goal. Everyone on the team howls and cheers and the goal keeper kicks it back into the field. We chase after it but Raffael comes out in front of everyone and kicks the ball over our heads. It lands near the group of procrastinating girls and they squeal casing Raff to smirk. I raise brow and he looks at me and winks and flashes me a million dollar grin.

I roll my eyes and go after the ball.

Just as I get the ball Toby comes out from behind me and kicks the ball towards the opposite goal. I chase after him and he try's to fool me by side stepping but I decide to fool him and he trips I take the ball and turn. I kick it up and head but it. It goes over to one of my team mates. She kicks it a bit and runs with it towards the goal. I run up and call.
"Ashley, over hear" I say. She kicks it under everyone's legs and I stop it and kick it into the goal.

The coaches whistle goes off.
"Winning Team, thanks to Laylani" he says. People clap and pat my back as I walk back over to the bleachers. I grab my bottle and drink.
"Who knew Nerdy Georgia has skills" I hear a voice from behind me. I look over and Toby is walking past with a smug look on his face. I flip him off and walk to the girls locker room.

I get change and put my sports uniform into my locker. I really should bring them home to wash but I don't have my gym bag with me.

I leave the locker room and go to the courtyard.

I'll sit with Heather.

"Jeez, what's in your ass ?" Heather asks as I sit down.
"Someone hit me with the soccer ball in HPE" I say rubbing my head.
"Ouch, why don't you go to the nurses office to get ice ?" She asks cringing.
"Because I'm not a baby, I'm capable of handling it" I say.
"Well, don't say to me later that I didn't tell you" she says putting her hands up. I huff and take a mouthful of my Peach flavoured iced tea.
"So, I saw Raff looking at you a lot in Chem" Heather says.
"You saw that too ?" I ask raising a brow.
"Yeah, remember, I came in late and had to take the seat on the other end of the back row because Raff took my seat" she says furrowing her brows.
"Oh yeah, sorry about that" I say.
"Girl, next time he sits there push him off the seat.... Literally" she says snapping her fingers.
"Yeah but he'll get me back and I don't want him to think that I'm flirting with him" I say frowning.
"More like 'roughly flirting'" she says rolling her eyes taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Whatever" I say eating my chicken wing.

• || Raffaels P.O.V || •

I walk out the back courtyard and look around to find a seat to sit at. I get hollered by Sydney. I pretend I can't hear her so I walk the opposite way. I find a empty table around the corner. I walk towards it but I hear Sydney again.
"Raff" she call. I pretend I can't hear her again. I look around to see who's calling me, I shrug and take a seat at the table.
"Raffael" she says sticking her hips to the side and putting my her hands on her hips.
"Oh hi" I say getting comfy.
"Don't act like you didn't hear me" she huffs.
"I thought I heard something" I say acting innocent.
"Come sit with the jocks and cheerleaders" she says.
"I'm not in the mood" I say.
"Well, we'll come to you then" she says. She turns around and calls them.
"Boys, Girls" she calls. They stand up and rush over.
"I'd much rather sit here" she says squishing up next to me.
"I need to go" I say standing and push past them. I walk back into the school and down the halls. What does it take just to be alone.

Does Laylani have this struggle ?

I decide... Strangely enough... To go to the library.

It's the only place in the school where the jocks and cheerleaders won't go. I'm shocked myself that I'm even going there.

• || Laylanis P.O.V || •

There's 10 minutes left of break. Heather left me for this boy so I'm just going to go to library to work on the rest of Rihanna's song.

I walk into the library and look around. No ones in here. Cool. I past the shelves and isles to the tables out the back. I see someone sitting at my table between the books. I pretend I'm looking through the books and get quick glances of whose sitting at my table. I go to the last row and these shelves are more packed and are higher. I sneak behind the books and peak through. Raffael ? Wtf ?!

I furrow my eyebrows and look down. I bang my head on the shelf and a few books fall down. I pick the books up and go to put them on the shelf but scream when Raffael is standing on the other side of shelf looking at me amused with a raised brow.
"You freaking scared the shit out of me" I frown.
"Did I really ?" He asks amazed.
"Not literally but you scared me" I say. He walks around the shelf to my side.
"What were you doing anyway ?" He asks.
"......looking for a book" I say standing still.
"Uhuh, and what book would that be ?" He asks crossing his arms and looks at me with a smug look on his face.
"You wouldn't know what it is anyway" I say waving him off and turning back around to walk off.
"I know what you were doing Lay, it's because I took your seat" he says behind me. I stop and shiver but walk on.
"You're looking great by the way" he says. I smile mentally but continue to walk out.

I can't hate him.

Or like him.

I can't love him.

Or dislike him.

I ponder off into my thoughts. The school loud speaker buttons go off.
"Ehem, attention all seniors, we have had some difficulty with setting up prom before graduation day, and to my delight, I would like to announce that Prom will occur the night before Graduation Day. Boys, you best find your date before its too late" the principle says chuckling and hangs up the microphone. I hear the school go crazy.
"Great" I mutter. No one better ask me to be their date. I recon no one will anyway.

• || Raffael's P.O.V || •

After hearing that announcement the principle said, I definitely have to ask Laylani to be my date.

Toby has that new girl, whoever she is.

So now I have the opportunity to get Laylani.

Sydney can find a Jock.
