Chapter 4 || Arriving in NY

So I left the motel over 2 hours ago, my mom left before me and the movers left after I did. I did hand the keys to the receptionist and she seemed sad about me leaving. Oh well..

So I have 4 hours left of driving and I think before I get any further my stomach is going to shrivel since I have not had breakfast and I havent gone to the bathroom, either has TJ.. I feel really bad.

As I read the signs passing by one says that there is a small town 10 miles ahead. I'll find a diner and a gas station to get both TJ and I something to eat and drink. I look over at her and she sleeping with her teddy next to her.

"Hey mom" I say through the phone.
"Hey Laylani, how's TJ ?" She asks.
"She's going good, she's been sleeping a lot" I say looking down at her.
"Okay, have you had brunch and gotten something for TJ to eat and drink ?" She asks.
"Yeah I'm just in the car ready to leave this little town I came across" I say.
"Okay that's good, and yeah I went pass that town around 30 minutes ago" she says.
"Alright, well, I'll won't be stopping until I get into New York" I chirp.
"Okay, you've got the address and put it into your navigator ?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah I did that before we left Chicago" I said.
"Good, see you in a few hours love" she says.
"You too" I replied.
"Love you" she says
"Love you too" I said and hanged up.

After driving a total 12 hours I have finally made it to New York. I've been sitting at this gas station for a while taking the beauty of this city in. It's not bright and doesn't have a shining sun, but it is how I like it, which is gloomy, dull and water filled clouds. I'm going to love living here. After filling up Macie I look at my navigator and I'm only 15 minutes away from my new house.

I get cut short from my ogling of this beautiful city, I looking down at my phone to see who is calling and it's my brother Mateo.
"Hey" I said
"Hey lil sis, where about are ya ?" He asks.
"At a gas station in NY" I replied.
"Okay so when you gonna be at ya new house ?" He asks.
"Probably 15 minutes" I say.
"Okay, don't take too long because I have Starbucks" he says excitedly.
"Haha I'll be there soon" I say.
"Cya" he says and hangs up before me.

I get back into my car and start it. She roars to life and I head on down the road.

I stop out the front of a cute little house and the movers truck is just parked infront of me with the roller door open and most of it is empty.

I pack up my stuff into my backpack, I put TJs leash back on and hop out. I lock Macie and walk up the stairs to the front porch, this is so cute.

I knock and Mateo answers straight away, he smiles and pulls me into a bear hug. I chuckle and hug him back.
"Hey there bro" I say keeping my grin in place.
"Hey sis" he says letting me go.
"This place is so cute " I say inspecting the insides of the house.
"Yeah mom said you would like it" he said smiling. I walk in shutting the door behind me and take TJ off her leash, she jumps over to Mateo, he bobs down and picks her up. He starts to talk baby talk to her, she loves it when people do that.

As I walk around my new house I find my mom unpacking in the living room.
"Hey mom" I say smiling.
"Hey Hun" she says smiling back.
"I love this place already" I said still smiling.
"I'm glad you do" she says still smiling too.
"So where is Jo and Marty ?" I ask.
"Still bringing in boxes" she says. Before I could say anything I heard Jo and Marty laughing. I turn around to see them walking down the staircase.
"Hey guys" I say looking up at them.
"Hey Laylani, wanna help bring in what's left ?" Jo asks.
"Yeah sure I'm just look around first" I said.
"Yeah for sure" Marty says.

I nodded and continued walking around. So when I first walk in you look straight at the staircase and to your right it's the dining room, to your left it's the living room, walking past the stair case it leads to two large doors which I assume lead to the miniature back yard, and to your right there it's the kitchen. Walking back to the front door I walk up the stair case, and to your right it's a hallway with doors. I walk through the first door to my left and it's the master bedroom with a walk-in-robe and a big ensuite. Walking back out to the hallway with doors, the first door on your right it's a linen cupboard, next door on the right is the laundry room, last door on the right is what seems to be the guest room with a ensuite. Walking across the hallway it's my room, it has a ensuite, walk-in robe and a patio. Walking back out to the hallway with the second door on the left it's the study/office and the first door on the left is the storage room.

Walking back down stairs to the lounge room and it has a room joined, with two steps leading up to it. I walk in further and it must be the mini library, aww, how cute.

Anyways aha, I walk out the front of the house to help Jo and Marty with brining boxes in and furniture too but the trucks rolling door is closed, they must have finished.

Well I best call this a day and be prepared for school tomorrow, Joy ! (Note sarcasm). I walk back upstairs to my room and the door is already open, I walk in and Mateo is sitting on my bed with Starbucks on my bedside table and TJ is in her little bed in the corner. I jump on my bed and get comfy.
"Hey" I say.
"Hey" Mateo says.
"Watcha thinking about ?" I ask looking at him.
"About that fact that you graduate in 5 months" he says turning to look at me.
"Yeah, can't wait, I won't even be living in this place for another year, I'll hopefully have a job and apartment nearby" I say giving him a sad smile.
"My little sister is growing up" he says wiping away a fake tear.
"It'll be okay, I'm only 17 turning 18 in a few weeks.. And you're only 22" I say poking his arm.
"We're close anyway, don't know what I'm on about" he hugs me. I hug him back.
"Well I guess I should get going" he says getting up from my bed.
"Where did you park anyway ? I didn't see your car" I said.
"I parked in front of the movers truck" he says as we continued walking to the front door.
"Oh okay, that's why I couldnt the see your car haha" I chuckled.
"Yeah" he says.
We walk out the front and head over to his white Audi R8. I hug him and say goodbye. I walk back upstairs having a shower and getting my stuff readying for school tomorrow while drinking my Starbucks. I should just ride my skateboard tomorrow, I don't want attention the first day because of Macie. I mean I know she's good looking and all but I don't want names or anything within the first 7 hours.

So Laylani finally makes it to NY, Raffael comes in next chapter. I might even make a perspective from him.. We'll see !
