Chapter 1

I ran out the front door and hopped into my light blue Mini Cooper. I glanced at myself in the side mirror. It was a Friday morning so I looked pretty decent compared to a Monday. I was wearing a small amount of makeup; just some concealer underneath my eyes, a thin line of black eyeliner and a quick swipe of mascara. I hate when girls wear a ton of makeup, natural is definitely the way to go. My straight, light brown hair softly fell over my shoulders and down my back. I brushed my fingers through it quickly and started my car.As I drove I let my mind wander a bit. I moved to Sydney, Australia when I was thirteen. I absolutely love it here. I lived in Canada until then. I'm seventeen now and I'm in year 11.

I pulled up to my school just ten minutes before the bell that signaled the start of class. I walked to my locker and said hi to my group of friends. I didn't have a ton of close friends. There's 5 of us in my close group but I'm really friendly with mostly everyone in my year. My best friend, Kaylee, informed me that we had English first. Her and I walked to class together chatting. Kaylee was the queen of gossip.

"Did you hear that Jessica is pregnant?!" She chatted on. I'm not really huge on gossip but I play along for Kaylee's sake.

"No way! Really?" I replied semi-enthusiastically. She seemed happy with my reply because she continued rambling as we entered English class. We sat down in our regular seats at the back of the class. My phone buzzed just as the teacher started talking about the book we were reading. It was a text from Ashton.

Hey Payton!! My friend is having a party tonight.. wanna come with me, Calum, and Luke? I'll get the booze since your too young ;P

I smiled and typed a quick reply.

Sure! Can't wait ;)

He replied telling me that they would pick me up at 9.

"What are you smiling about" Kaylee asked.

"I'm going to a party with the guys tonight!" I replied, getting really excited. I've known Luke, Cal, and Ash since I moved to Sydney. Ash lives on my street and all of the boys would come over to his house and we would all hangout. We have been best friends since. They are all graduated now but we still hangout all the time. Luke and Calum are 18 and Ashton is 20.

The rest of the day flew by and I was now driving home getting pumped for tonight. My music was blasting and I was singing along. I pulled up to a red light beside some dude on a motorcycle. I glanced at him and realized it wasn't just some dude.. It was a hot dude. He wore a leather jacket and had black and blue sex hair. "Damn.." I thought to myself. He caught me looking, winked, then drove off. I realized that the light had been green for a while and quickly drove through the intersection with the image of that gorgeous boy in my mind.
