Chapter 13
I slipped back into the guest room where Ashton was waiting.
“What took so long?” He asked, sitting up from the bed. The sheet that was covering his naked body slipped down revealing his v lines. I was relieved that this didn’t have much effect on me. He was still just my best friend. Period.
“I had to convince Luke that nothing happened between us last night. I’m not sure if he believes me but we’ll just have to keep denying it.” I tossed him his backpack and proceeded to dig through mine, looking for my pajamas. He did the same.
“Shit. I’m sure I’ll be questioned later too.” He said as he slipped on his pajama pants and a t-shirt. I nodded and turned around to change into mine. We’ve changed in front of each other before last night anyway so this wasn't a uncommon occurrence. I pulled on a pair of black and red plaid pajama bottoms and a tank top that said ‘I <3 sleep’. My feet were cold so I also put on some moustache ankle socks and bootie slippers.

I slipped back into bed with Ashton.
“I’m going to try to sleep for a while longer.” I said, knowing that it was only about 7:15 am.
“Me too.” He replied, kissing my forehead.
“I’m glad things aren’t weird between us now.” I yawned.
“Yeah.” He said. “But, I mean, if you ever need any cheering up again, you know who to call.” He winked. I slapped him on the chest and rolled my eyes.
Boys will be boys.

The next time I woke up it was 11. Ashton was gone so I stretched across the bed and yawned. The smell of bacon was what got me out of bed in a hurry.
I pulled on my adidas jumper and skipped downstairs.
Calum, Ashton, and Luke were in the kitchen making breakfast. I sat at the middle island on a stool and watched them do their thing. The absence of Michael suddenly dawned on me and my heart began to ache. I really miss him. My thoughts were interrupted when Luke placed a plate full of bacon, scrambled eggs, and toast in front of me. I thanked him and picked up a piece of toast that was burnt to a crisp.
"Yum." I said sarcastically giving it a look of disgust. Everyone started laughing and Calum gave us a sheepish look.
"Never let Calum make toast." Luke said.
"Hey I'm a good toast maker, thank you very much.” He argued, throwing a piece of buttery toast directly at Luke’s face. We all fell silent as Luke wiped at the coat of butter with a look of pure fury on his face.
We all bursted out laughing until Luke’s grabbed a handful of butter and smooshed it right over Calum’s head.
This food fight just got serious.
A buttery haired Calum threw open the fridge and whipped out a bottle of ketchup. I knew this was my cue to get the hell out of there unless I wanted to ruin my new pajamas.
I booked it to the couch and hid behind it, knowing that they wouldn’t risk getting anything on the new furniture. I watched from my hiding place.
Calum’s ketchup bottled was aimed at Luke but missed and got Ashton. He looked down at his now ketchup covered shirt and grabbed the nearest food he could find which happened to be a bottle of maple syrup. With a battle cry he poured it into Calum’s already buttery hair.
