Chapter Five
Miles woke up a couple of minutes later to see Alex standing over him with a worried expression. Tyler was next to him, scolding him.
"I leave him with you for three minutes and he passes out? What did you do to him? Gabe's going to be mad!" he was sayiing.
Miles blinked a couple of times. Alex sighed with relief. "Relax, he's fine!" he said, poking Miles' face.
Miles pushed Alex's hand away and sat up. He put a hand on his forehead. His head was reeling and he was still wondering if Alex really knew of vampires or if he'd just been having a random panic attack.
"Alright then. Take care of him Alex, I'll be right over there," Tyler said quickly, running back to the girl.
Alex sat down next to Miles again.
"So I pass out and you two just stare at me?" Miles asked, his eyes shut and his hand still on his head.
Alex laughed, "I knew you'd get over it fast though! Vampires never stay out for too long."
"Oh God," Miles gasped, leaning back into the couch. "Oh God," he repeated over and over. Alex's hand clamping over his mouth finally quieted.
"Dude, what's the matter?" he asked, looking puzzled.
"What's the matter? You're not supposed to know that we vampires exist!" Miles hissed at him.
Alex laughed again, uncontrollably this time. "Dude! Chillax! I thought you knew that I came from a long line of hunters!"
Miles clenched his teeth, "You're still not supposed to know who is and who isn't a vampire! Only extremely well trained hunters and pure-vampires can do that."
He stopped laughing and looked flustered for a moment, as if he'd been caught in some sort of a lie. "So... Gabe didn't tell you. And you don't know of the curse..." he said, staring off into space.
"What? So Gabe knows? What curse? Does Gabe know of this curse too?" Miles asked, clutching Alex's shirt, shaking him.
"No, Gabe doesn't know about the curse," Alex replied, pushing Miles away gently.
Miles lifted a finger, "Wait right here."
He stood and ran over to Gabe, who was still nearby amazingly.
"Gabe!" he whispered.
Gabriel turned and smiled at Miles. "Miles, my love! Having fun?"
Miles waved his hands, "Yes yes, whatever. What do you know about Alex?"
Gabe frowned, "Why?"
"Is he a pure-vampire or something?" Miles asked, shaking Gabe.
Gabriel sighed, letting Miles shake him. He answered, "Yes he is. Sorry, I forgot you couldn't tell. Is that all you wanted from me?"
Miles stopped shaking him. "Indeed it is. I'll see you later," Miles said, running back to Alex. "Vampire!" he half-yelled at him as he got closer to the couch.
Alex jumped up, "Hush Miles! Come here!" He grabbed Miles' arm and started dragging him out of the house. "You can't just go around shouting that!" he hissed at him as they walked.
Once they were outside, Alex grabbed Miles by the shoulders. "Listen here you! I'll explain everything later, not here, too many people. But later, okay? So in the mean-time, be quiet!" he told Miles.
