Chapter three.
Cara woke up with the sun rays stinging her eyes. She grunted and took one of her pillows to cover her face. She didn't sleep well, thanks to the bandage on her left foot. Why did I have to be so stupid to not know what's gonna happen next? She thought as she sat up.
"Had sweet dreams baby sis?" Ethan Andersen said. He was leaning against the doorframe when he said so. "Ya think?" Cara said sarcastically as she yawned and stretched her arms.
Ethan Andersen is the second youngest among the four, he's Cara's twin brother. Like Cara, they both have brown hair and sea-green eyes. You'd think twice when you're told they are twins as yes, they may have the same hair and eye color but they do not resemble each other. Cara looks more like their mother while Ethan looks more like their father.
"Yeah, I think," Ethan told her in a teasing way. He walked towards her and ruffled her already messy hair. Cara smacked his arm away.
"God! You hit like a man!" Ethan said as he rubbed his arm. Cara gave out an evil smile and jumped out of her bed.
"C'mon big bro, get out of my room," she said as she pushed him out of her room. When they reached the door, she put on extra force when she pushed him before closing the door and locking it. She sighed, "I hope today doesn't get any worse than yesterday," she told herself before heading to the bathroom to get ready for school.
"Your friend is in the living room waiting for you!" Ethan said as he repeatedly knocked the door. Cara was brushing her brown and gold hair that time. She put her brush down and limped her way towards the door and opened it.
"Is it a guy or a girl?" she asked right after she opened the door. "Girl of course," Ethan snorted. "Why? Who are you expecting?" he teased. Cara rolled her eyes and took her satchel.
"Aren't you gonna use the crutches?" Ethan asked concerned as he grabbed the crutches. Cara looked back and thought. "Nah, I don't comfortable with it," she said before turning around and walked down the stairs.
"Cara!" Emilie said with a huge grin. Cara smiled, "Hey." Emilie walked to her and came with her to the kitchen.
"I'll take a quick breakfast mom! "Cara said and took a loaf of bread. After that, she and Emilie walked to Emilie's car. "Since you can't drive I thought going to school with you was a good idea," Emilie told her as she started the car. Not long after, they made their way to school.

"I have to pass something to Mrs. Davis before the math class starts! I'll see you there I guess," Emilie said with worry. "Try not to get killed okay?" she said before going off. Cara chuckled and went back to arranging her things in her locker.
"Hey you okay?" a low, soft masculine voice said. Cara stopped what she was doing and turned around. "Oh hey Dam-" she stopped when she found out who it was.
Jake Ericsson.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not your childhood friend," he said. He sounded pretty angry there.
"What do you want?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Nothing, I just wanted to see whether you're okay," he replied.
"Well, I'm okay. Now that you know, you can now leave," Cara told him and turned around to continue with what she was doing before the monster arrived. Realizing he never left she slammed her locker door shut and walked off.
"You know you're different," he said with a slight smile. Cara stopped, okay... that is so not him...
"Yes, I'm different, I'm not like those girls out there who're pretty, skinny and definitely not the ones that fall for you that easily. So I'm sorry to disappoint you Jake Ericsson," she said after she turned around and then walked. "I'm not like those girls you can easily get and them dump them after that."
