Chapter twelve

Jake let the way with his hands in his pockets as Cara and Damian followed behind. He opened the door for Cara then went in giving Damian a look.

"Since I tagged along, the drinks' on me," Damian said, taking the seat beside Cara. Jake ended up sitting directly across Cara.

"Make mine Latte," Jake said. Damian nodded and looked at Cara. She smiled," the usual." Damian asmiled back and turned to buy the drinks.

Knowing what Jake might do, Cara placed her satchel on the seat beside her, reserving it for Damian. She doesn't want Damian to come back with the drinks shocked as Jake already took the seat beside her. Besides, she didn't want Jake by her side. All he'll do is flirt.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Cara asked. Jake was sitting, relaxed and looking out the window. He looked at her with blank expression. He leaned forward and had had the lower part of his arms against the table. "Nothing, really. It's been a long time since I saw you," he said and grinned.

"But I thought it was something important?" Car asked, getting lissed. He coukd have just dropped by if he wanted to see her. He didn't need to give her a false alarm and make her wonder what happened. And most of all, he didn't need to ask her out for some drinks just to see her. She could have spent the time into something else way more important- such as accompanying Emilie.

"Well if I say I just want to talk and see you, would you still go?" Jake asked with a frown. His eyes were solid and serious. No, Cara answered mentally. Like reading her mind, Jake smirked, "That's what I thought."

"Here are your drinks everyone!" Damian came back with three cuos of drinks. He placed then on the tabke in front of their owners. "You're favorite," he said to Cara with a sweet smile and sat beside her, close.

The three were pretty quiet and awkward with each other. Cara silently slipped her chocolate drink and watched the happenings on the outside. She watched different cars pass by and the clouds that slowly moved. Jake broke the silence by clearing his throat, which made Cara and Damian look at him.

"How's life?" He said. Damian shrugged and Cara pursed her lips, "Good, I guess."

A familiar person walks in the shop. Cara immediately knew who she is. She walked elegantly to the cashier and ordered her drink. She noticed Cara starring ans smiled and waved. She told the cashier something then paid for her drink. After that, she cat-walked to Cara's table with her drink in hand.

"Hey," she said with a bright smile. Cara grinned and greeted back, "Hi Nicole."

"May I sit with you?"

"Sure," Cara nodded and Nicolr grinned then sat beside Jake. Cara and Damian mentally expected Jake to flirt with her but then Jake's eyes just narrowed.

"Oh hi, it's you again!" Nicole greeted with a smile. Jake just looked at her and glared. Nicole looked at him innocently.

Jake's jaw clenched and his glare became colder, "Don't act like you don't know me."
