Falling for Him

Chatpter 14

"Wow, hi Daniel," Cara grinned and waved. He grinned back and walked towards the two of them. He looked at Emilie with a smile and a nod, "Hi Emilie," he said. Emilie slightly blushed and smiled.

"Wow, it's good to see you all again," he said. "You look even more beautiftul," he added. Emilie nudged Cara as she smiled shyly. 

"It was nice meeting the two of you again," Daniel said as she gave the two girls a glance each. Then his phone rang, he smiled again. "Well, I'll see you around?" he asked.

Emilie and Cara nodded, "See ya." Daniel grinned, finally showing off his perfect set of pearly whites before turning around and headed to the opposite direction. Then, the two girls went to the school's garden.

"So, let it all out..." Cara said as she watched the black, orange, yellow and white Japanese Kois swimming in the school's pond. Emilie breathed in then out heavily before starting to tell her.

"Nicole and I were best friends, thanks to a guy. But, we wouldn't have met if Nicole didn't become my ex-best friend. We were in kindergarten and elementary school together, until I moved out, that is. I got transfered school because I was too depressed to talk to anybody," Emilie told her.

Cara listened intently as Emilie told her about the guy and her old life. She took mental notes on what Nicole did that made their friendship sink so it wouldn't happen to her and Emilie.

"Forget about that and let's do something else," Cara told her, changing the topic. She knew this thing was so years ago to be talked about now. Afterall, it already happened. The only thing they can do is forget about the happening and remember the lesson. Emilie hooked her arm onto CAra's and smiled, "I'd like that."

The two girls walked along the hallway laughing until they heard a familiar voice.

"Jake please!" a feminine voice said. It came from the student councilors room. Trying not to make any sound, the two tip-toed towards the side of the door and eavesdropped. Turns out that it was Nicole and Jake having a conversation.

Jake's back was facing the door so the two couldn't see his face. The only thing they could see was Nicole crying. Cara noticed he was tensed as he flexed his muscles. She can also see him clenching his jaw.

"Look, I'm sorry. I know that I was mean to you last time. I really am sorry, and I'm ready to face the music okay? You can do the things that I did to you to me. Here," Nicole said as she tried to stop her tears. "But you, you can't ignore me like that," she sobbed. "I'm sorry, I really am," she added.

Nicole bursted into tears and continued to say how sorry she was and that she would do anything just for the two of them to become friends again. Jake, who sighed and walked towards her, just gave her a tight hug. His action made her cry harder.

Jake pulled away from Nicole and looked at her with his lips tight in a straight line. "Just stay away from me. That would be good for the two of us," he said as looked at her and held her shoulders. He took a box of tissues  from his desk and gave it to her. "Wipe those tears, crying doesn't suit her," he told her. Nicole took it and nodded. She slowly backed away then ran out of the door. Before she could, Cara pulled Emilie away from the door.

"Casually walk, follow my lead," Cara whispered. Emilie pursed her lips and nodded. Jake came out of the room and saw them, 'casually walking'.

"How long have you two been here?" he asked. Cara shrugged her shoulders and looked at him in the eye," not that long."

Jake rubbed the bridge of his nose and walked in the room. Not his usual way of saying goodbye.

A/N: I am so sorry for the really late update! School's been taking a lot of my time Dx well, this is just to give you more info on Nicole and Jake xD now... who's team JaCole here? xD

off-topic question:  which do you eat while watching movies? nachos with cheese or popcorn? xD
