Falling for Him

Chapter five

“Outfit?” Emilie asked as she lay on Cara’s bed and hugged one of Cara’s stuffed toys.  It was a pink bear holding a heart with ‘I love you’ written on it- probably given by one of Cara’s suitors.

“Check,” Cara checked her image on her mirror. She looked pretty, her hair was curled and she wasn’t wearing that much make up.  Why would she anyway? Her skin was flawless- her older sister took care of her very well. She didn’t let Cara get any scratches and or cuts. This was one of the reasons Cara wasn’t that athletic.

“Purse with cellphone, camera, wallet, money and lip gloss?” Emilie said with one breath. Cara showed Emilie her satchel with the things Emilie mentioned.

“ Okay!” she said loudly as she got out of Cara’s bed. “You’re ready for your date.”

Cara blushed, “Yeah…” she said. She was excited, a date with her childhood crush? Definitely something that doesn’t happen to all people.

Ethan’s head popped out from the door, “Damian’s here.” Cara took the last look and followed her brother down the stairs. Then, he saw Damian in a black t-shirt and jeans. His pretty thin shirt and tight shirt made his lean muscles pretty obvious. Looking at those muscles, it made Cara want to hug herself.

“Hi,” he said casually as he walked towards her. Cara stepped closer towards him and smiled sweetly. “Hey,” she smiled sweetly.

“Let’s go?” he asked, smiling and looking at her in the eyes. Without breaking the eye contact, she nodded. Damian placed his arm around her; it was something he does every time.

As the Damian drived to the park, he and Cara had random conversations about random things. But as they got nearer and nearer to their destination, their conversations got less random.

“So, where are we going?” Cara asked. She looked at him and she saw him smile, “the park.”

Her face brightened up.  Her dream date was exactly like this, to be with Damian in the park for a romantic picnic. “Picnic?” she asked. Damian nodded, “yep.”

She smiled and sat back. This felt like an early Christmas gift- a date with your crush. Of course she and Damian went out together before. But he himself called it a date, not one of those buddy-buddy outings. She tried to imagine the two of them being sweet to each other during their picnic under a tree. Then, when it came to desserts, they would chase each other and try to put icings on each other’s faces, then he’d chase her and-

“We’re here,” Damian said, cutting Cara’s train of thought. She blinked and unbuckled her seatbelt. Damian made her wear it as he said he didn’t want anything to happen to her and probably her brothers gave him the ‘if anything happens to our baby sister, we’ll kill you ‘ talk. She asked him about it but he denied it. Right, like she’ll believe that, her brothers gave all the boys that speech.

Damian ran out and opened the door for her. He was a gentleman, that’s why girls fall for him. He wasn’t just good looking, well known and a good athlete- he was also one of those boys that has the personality. He was a complete package for short.

Damian locked his car and took a huge basket from the trunk of his car. Then, they went to the park to find a spot.

It was a good day. The sun was shining brightly above them and the temperature was just right – not too hot, not too cold. They found a spot under a big tree. Cara was squealing mentally.

Damian lay out the blanket and Cara placed the basket in the middle. Then the two started eating.

They were sitting by each other, side by side but with the basket in the middle. “So… after this what do you wanna do?” Cara asked. This date was becoming less romantic, but she couldn’t help but feel comfortable with her childhood friend- probably too comfortable.
