Chapter Sixteen

"Wanna... hangout with us later after school?" Emilie asked as she gulped. Both Cara and Emilie had an appalled expression. Nicole expected Emilie to be glaring at her and Cara didn't expect her to be that nice to her. For once in her life she was actually wrong about her best friend. Nicole smiled and nodded. "Sure," she said as she grinned at Emilie followed by Cara.

The bell rang and Emilie hurried with Cara's make up and then made their way to class.

School's new student, Nicole, spotted with red and puffy eyes? hmm.. wonder why? xoxo Secret ;)

After two minutes, people started texting back. Most of them said "Break up" or "Rejected". Cara gave Emilie a look but she just shrugged it off. Looks like she wasn't wrong about her best friend anyway.

"Thanks for inviting me to go out with you two again," Nicole gave the two a sincere and bright smile as she walked with them towards the parking lot. Emilie unlocked her car and then they went in it. Cara was with Emilie in front while Nicole was at the back seat. 

On their way, Cara's phone rang.

"Hey panda-bear," a husky voice said over the phone. Cara smiled. She knows who exactly it was.

"Hey Ian," she said as she smirked. Damian chuckled when she called him by his nickname.

"Listen, I was thinking of going out again. You and me, this sat?" he asked. Cara tried hard not to squeal. Emilie and Nicole were silent in the car but they were grinning like idiots.

"Sure, sounds fun," Cara tried to sound casual. She didn't want to sound over-excited about it. Although she was already screaming and squealing hysterically inside her pretty head.

"Cool, I guess you're with the girls now?" he asked. Cara nodded, "yeah, catch 'ya later?" she asked, souding apologetic. She could practically hear him smile over the phone.

"Yep, see ya later." he said. Cara chuckled before hanging up. Then, she squealed like a little and laughed. Emilie and Nicole asked her eagerly what happened. Cara looked at them with excitement before exclaiming, "Damian asked me out!"

Her exclaime was followed by squeals and screaming then laughter.

"I'm in charge of your outfit!" Emilie announced!

"Hair, make-up and accesories' mine!" Nicole followed.

The three laughed on their way to the mall and decided to shop for the outfit Cara would be wearing."Seriously guys, I have clothes at home, I don't need to buy new ones."

"It is when you're going on a hot date with a hottie," Nicole insisted as she hooked her arm onto Cara's. Emilie did the same thing and agreed. "Nic's right!" Cara looked at the two of them and chuckled. "You two are so cute."

The three were having lots of fun in the mall shopping and trying out clothes. Nicole, being someone who loves to take photos as memories, took a lot of pictures. When they can finally feel tired, they decided to pass by starbucks to take a break- which was a bad idea. 

"Hey, look who's here," someone said in a bitchy tone. The three looked to their right to see Stephanie and her minions giving them glares. Cara signalled the other two to ignore- which they happily obeyed. Stephanie's nostrils flared. They did not just ignore me.

She stood up and strutted to Cara, Emilie and Nicole with her latte in hand. "I was talking to you." she said with an arched eyebrow. Nicole, who was the most furthest from Stephanie stepped forward so could get a good look on her, "Well, we weren't. So leave us alone."

"Sorry sweetie, not you," Stephanie said in a fake-sweet tone. She glared at Cara, "you." Cara rolled her eyes and ignored her. "I'm not in for trouble Stephanie, just leave me and the rest alone."

"I would if you leave my Jake alone, stop trying to steal him," Stephanie said. "Oh the fucking irony of it all," Emilie muttered and turned to the register as it was her turn to order. Nicole silently waited for the perfect timing to say something to make Stephanie go away.

"Look Stephanie, first of all, Jake was never yours and Second, I'm not stealing anyone from you," Cara said, trying to keep her cool. Stephanie smiled at her and turned to Nicole. "You better try not to either."

"Sorry, no comprende, me no habla bitch." Nicole scoffed as she saw Stephanie's priceless expression. Her nostrils flared again and she walked out. Nicole then ordered her drink as Cara and Emilie stood there shocked.

"Awesome comeback over there," Emilie said as she took a bite on her cake. Nicole smiled and shrugged, "No one calls my Jake their Jake."

"You like him?" Emilie asked. Nicole nodded as she took a sip on her latte. Cara squealed and smiled. Emilie did the same thing as well.

"I guess the three of us are even," Cara said, smiling. Emilie looked at her, "Who said I like someone?"

"Eversince my bro drove you to your house," Cara winked as she took a bite on her muffin. Emilie laughed and told her to shut up and playfully punched her.

The three spent a little more time before leaving the shop. They decided to go around a little more before going home. Afterall, it's a thursday.

"Cara! Emilie!" someone called them from behind. The three turned around and saw Daniel with his brother. Cara smiled and greeted, "Hey!"

Daniel and his brother walked towards them. Brandon, his brother, walked towards Emilie and smiled. Daniel couldn't take his eyes of Nicole. Cara just stood there smiling at them.

"It's nice to see you three here," he said. "Yeah, how nice," Nicole smiled.

"Flirt mode activated," Emilie whispered to Nicole. Nicole's smiled became brighter and wider when she nodded.

Unfortunately, Daniel's brother's phone rang.

"Mom texted, we gotta go now," Cara heard his brother tell Daniel. Daniel gave the girls an apologetic look, specifically Nicole, and said "It was nice meeting you here." The two Gearharts waved as they walked away. Nicole and Emilie waved back as Cara just smiled.

"He's hot," Nicole commented.

"No, they're both hot," Emilie said. Cara rolled her eyes and the three decided to get going.

"Sleepover at my house on friday so we can do the preparation in my place since the clothes would be left here," Emilie said before driving off. "Cool," Cara said and waved goodbye.
