"Sungmin! Oppa, it's not what it looked like!"
"Sure thing! I thought you loved me!"
"Hold on, dongsaeng, it wasn't her fault!"
"Forget dongsaeng, Han Geng, I don't want to be connected to you in any way!"
"Sungmin, stop being a jerk and give us a chance to explain this!"
"It was obvious enough. I don't need an explanation"
Hankyung and I stared at each other. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes.
Everyone else, and I mean everyone, ran downstairs.
"We heard something break" said Leeteuk. "What's going on?" He saw Sungmin.
"Are you ok, dongsaeng?"
His tears overflowed from his eyes.
"I'm not ok. And ask them why, I can't stand in this house for one more second"
He started to powerwalk out of the house, fists clenched in rage. I chased him up, ignoring the agony in my ankle.
"Sungmin, please, don't do this"
He kept walking, Tears fell down both mine and his face.
"Please, Sungmin"
He hesitated, but kept walking.
"HEY! It wasn't my fault!"
That's when he stopped. He turned around and slapped me in the face so hard I reeled.
"I know what I saw" he growled. "How could you be as ignorant to say it wasn't your fault?
We were outside by this time, standing on the gravel driveway. His eyes pierced through mine and he turned, spat into the garden, and stalked out of the driveway, hands in his hoodie pockets.
I let go of my cheek, which was red and stinging. I dropped to my knees on the driveway, the pain in my cheek, ankle and knees slightly quenching the heartbreak. The other members and EunJung watched with their mouths slightly open and eyes full of surprise.
And I let the tears free.
They started out as choking, gulping-for-air sobs and then advanced to loud wails of anguish. I had ruined it. What I wanted for so many years, ruined with one kiss.
"HyeLim ssi..." said a soft voice in broken Korean. Hankyung placed his hand on my shoulder.
Suddenly, the sadness that filled my heart was replaced with fury.
"Get off" I growled shakily, roughly pushing his hand off.
"Please, HyeLim. We need to fix your wounds"
"You don't get it" I whispered. Then I started yelling.
"NOTHING YOU CAN DO CAN FIX THE BIGGEST WOUND I HAVE. MY HEART HAS BEEN CRUSHED INTO LITTLE PIECES AND IT'S ALL...YOUR...FAULT!!!" I said, hitting him for the last three syllables.
"HyeLim, stop, you're working yourself up" he said calmly, with an firm edge on the end.
"ARE YOU BLIND? I JUST LOST THE ONE I LOVE AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE YOU KISSED ME!"
Everyone gasped.
I went to hit him again but he grabbed my arms. I struggled to get out of his grip, but it was as hard as steel. He tried to pull me inside, but failed because of my legs, which were practically glued to the ground. My knees were now bleeding and my ankle was giving me hell, but I still stayed stuck. Hankyung was nowhere near strong enough to lift me in my tantrum, so he motioned at Kangin. Kangin snapped out of his surprise and burst into action. He lifted my legs off the ground, making sure not to hurt or twist my ankle, and together, they carried me back inside, Kangin securing my ankle so it didn't move and Hankyung holding my hands together so they couldn't move and hushing me soothingly.
