Let's not Work Today (Book 1)

Chapter 19

We got some sandwiches and headed out to the beach. There was a store nearby so we bought some trunks and went into the water. I slipped and fell, getting my trunks dirty with sand and my mouth filled with saltwater and sand.

"Ah! Help." I yelped as Ross rushed over, laughing hysterically. I have him an unamused glare as he helped me up.

"That was Dumb." He laughed.

"Oh shut up, I don't know what happened." I brushed his hand off my shoulder and walked back to Adam and Barney. They sat on the multiple towels laid out for us as they ate their sandwiches.

"Max what happenings? You falling like that the Goat that has not been the milkings!" Barney joked.

"Oh eat a dick, I just fell." Adam laughed and passed me my sandwich. I sat down, taking a small bite out of my sandwich and looking around. Ross mustve went to find Red.

They came back, Ross short of breath abd Red smirking like a mad man. "What?" I asked. Red then proceeded to take out a short piece of paper containing 7 numbers. "Noice!" I high fived him. Looking over to barney, i see his face is red with Jealousy and anger. "Well somebodys jealous.." i mumbled. Barney gave me a look that only meant Death. "Okay okay!" I laughed, putting my hands up in defeat with my sandwich in one hand.

"Ohs Red, you gots a girls' numbers hey?" Barney tried to look happy, for Reds sake but you could see the pain in his eyes. I knew his feelings toward Red, and Barneys heart probably just shattered in a million pieces. I promise I'll help him pick those pieces up, Hes a good friend after all...
