Big Secrets, Little Time

Chapter One

"Kingsley please don't forget your homework this time!" My mom yelled to me from the other side of the house.

No I'm not a boy if that's what you're thinking.

My name is Kingsley Samantha Brooks and my parents have no sense in how to name there children.

"I won't!" I yelled back.

Quickly I grabbed my homework glad for the reminder although I would never say that to my moms face and then I headed down the stairs to leave.

I opened the door to a smiling Jennifer aka my best friend in the whole world.

In her hands she was holding the new Teen Magazine.

"Read this!" She squealed.

I rolled my eyes at her but tried reading it. My head hurt and I couldn't make out any of the words.

I'm dyslexic so most numbers and words get jumbled up for me but nobody in my school knows besides Jennifer and my ex boyfriend.

"Oh right sorry." She said. "It says POP STAR ROCKET DEAL IS COMING TO SALT LAKE NEXT WEEK!"

I started jumping up and down with excitement.

I pulled out my phone and googled tickets. It said $50 was the cheapest price so I quickly ordered them.

"DONE!" I shouted. "Just pay me back later."

We kept jumping up and down as we headed to her car.

"I'll just tell my mom when I get home." She said.

"Me too."

"You can just drive us there!" She said.

I rolled my eyes. Of course I had to waste gas money but whatever.

Jennifer didn't know but i didn't actually like the famous Rocket Deal at all. We just didn't have much in common when we first met when we were 7 and I thought she wouldn't like me so I said he was also my favorite singer.

I know now that she would still love me no matter what but I couldn't bare telling her now that it's been 10 years of friendship.

As we got out of the car at school Jennifer's boyfriend came over.

He waved at me for .2 milliseconds and then started sucking face with Jennifer so I walked towards the school.

I didn't like Devon very much but Jennifer trusted him so I didn't say anything.

Once I got to the door someone shoved me out of the way making me fall.

Just before I hit the ground someone caught me.

I looked up into the face of Garret Link the most popular guy in our school.

"Thanks." I mumbled brushing myself off and walking away.

"Seriously that's all I get?" He asked.

I whipped around to see him making a puppy dog face.

"I just saved your life, you could have died and all I get is a muffled thanks?"

I groaned and then kept walking.
