Chapter Eighteen

It took a lot of persuading but finally RT and I got my mother and Brad to say yes to us getting married.

"Have you spoken to Jennifer since the hospital?" I asked Brad after RT left and we were watching a movie.

"No." He said sadly.

I shut off the TV. "Well then let's go now." I said.

"What?" He asked surprised.

"I need a maid of honor and I've always wanted her to be it and I have to stop holding a grudge because one I'm in love with RT not Garret and two she's sorry so I should move on from it and three you need the love of your life back." I said smirking.

He smiled at me. "You're right I do."

"I'll go in first and talk to her and you wait out here then I'll come out here and you can serenade her all you want." I said.

He nodded. "Try and take a while I'm gonna go buy flowers real quick."

"Remember sun flowers are her favorite." I said.

"I know that's why I said take a while because I don't know where you an buy sun flowers."

I laughed. "True."

He drove away so I walked up to the door and softly knocked.

Jennifer answered the door immediately. When she saw it was me her face turned to total shock.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I wanted to make amends." I said.

She started crying right on the spot.

"Thank god!" She said as she cried.

She hugged me and at first I didn't hug back because I wasn't used to her death grip of a hug but then I hugged her back glad to have my best friend again.

When she finally released she brought me to her kitchen to get a drink.

"So why were you at the hospital?" She asked me.

I wasn't ready for the question. I hadn't been to school in over 2 weeks so I hadn't had to explain anything.

"You haven't been at school and I only saw..." She stopped.

"Brad that one time." She whispered.

"Um well that's why I'm here." I said nervously.

"I have um...well...um I have Leukemia." I said with a shaky breath.

She just froze and looked at me.

"The treatments didn't work on me because I'm so far into the cancer so they don't know how long I have to live and its every 1 in 1000 that survive without the treatment."

She didn't even blink she seemed to be a statue and I knew I was just throwing this all at her so I decided I should just keep going and not wait for her response.

"And I wanted to know if you'd be my maid of honor at my wedding which is in 3 months because RT asked me to marry him and I said yes because I'm so in love with him and I don't know how long I have to live and neither does he so we want to be together as long as possible." I said in one breath.
