Jennifer and I ate lunch outside under a tree where we could be alone.

No boys. No hardships or heartache. Just the two of us.

"I missed this." She says.

"What?" I ask.

"This, us, just you and me just like when we were in middle school and the thought of boys, dating and kissing was still weird." She says grinning.

I nod totally agreeing with the statement.

We used to be able to just be friends with boys.

Garret, Jennifer and I had all been best friends from 6th grade to 9th but then he asked me out in 10th and things changed.

We dated and Jennifer started going to parties and sleeping with every guy because she felt uncomfortable 3rd wheeling.

Her and Devon had been on and off and once Garret and I broke up she got together with Devon officially until he cheated obviously.

Garret was the only guy I ever dated or had real feelings for until RT.

"Look the cloud looks like a butterfly." Jennifer said pointing up.

"You're actually so blind." I said laughing. "That definitely looks like a piece of bread."

We both burst out laughing.

"The bells about to ring." I said checking my phone.

We both sat up and grabbed our bags and all our garbage to throw out.

"Oh I never asked you." Jennifer said as we walked inside. "Did you hear that Garret is on house arrest for the next 2 months?"

I shook my head. "He told me he might be on house arrest but I didn't know it was definite or that long."

She nodded. "Yah it's crazy, I heard some people whispering about it by my locker."

I rolled my eyes. "Everybody is always whispering about him."

Jennifer looked shocked that it annoyed me.

"Since when do you care what people think of Garret?" She asked.

The tone in her voice made me think she was aggravated.

"I've always cared but him and I have been through a lot that's all."

"You've cared so much that you broke his heart." She snapped.

"Excuse me?" I said. "The break up was mutual."

"No it wasn't." She said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked pissed off at her.

Why was she siding with him and not me? I was her best friend not him.

"He told me that you told him he wasn't always around like he used to be and you decided to break up and he just agreed so it didn't seem like you broke his heart."
