Big Secrets, Little Time

Chapter Ten

I walked into school and everyone was starring at me. Why not I am the girl who almost died. But I felt uncomfortable.

Jennifer came running up to me and grabbed my hand then pulled me into the bathroom.

"What happened with you and RT?" She asked.

"I told him I didn't want to be with him because I saw him kissing another girl." I said.

"I don't want to talk about it." I said quickly when she started opening her mouth.

"Okay." She nodded.

We walked out of the bathroom and everyone was silent. Jennifer and I looked down the hall to where everyone was looking and we both saw RT.

Everyone was looking at the large scar with stitches on his face.

He looked straight ahead as if no one was looking at him.

His eyes landed on me and he started walking faster towards us. Jennifer glanced at me but I didn't move I just starred at him as he got closer.

He stopped right in front of me and opened his mouth. He quickly looked around for the first time at everyone who was looking at him.

Then he lowered himself so his lips were at my ear which sent chills down my spine.

"I'm sorry and I'm gonna fight for you." He stood up looking directly into my eyes and then walked away.

Jennifer looked at me confused because she wanted to know what he had said.

"Later." I mouthed and then I walked after him.

"RT!" I yelled.

He turned around surprised to see me and stopped.

Once I got up to him I crossed my arms in front of my chest because I was feeling uncomfortable from what happened the other night.

I totally led him on but it was to get back at him and yet for some reason he was still fighting for me.

"What's up?" He asked.

"I was just wondering..." I stopped.

Why was I being stupid? There was no reason for me to be talking to him. I wasn't over him but I couldn't show him that.

"You know what never mind." I said.

"Wait Kingsley stop please just talk to me." He said.

"I lied okay you were right." He said. "I did kiss her back but it was because I used to love her and I had to see if I felt anything."

He told me the truth and that's all that matters is what I was telling myself but my heart felt like it was breaking into a million little pieces.

"And did you?" I asked barely able to get it out or I'd cry.

"No because I love you." He said. "And that's final because I want you and no one else."

He grabbed my hands and pulled me so I had to look into his eyes.

His eyes. Beautiful. That's all
I could think I'm that moment because my mind was clouded up.

"Please don't give up on me."
He begged. "I'll wait if that's what you want or I'll take you out everyday to make you feel special until you realize I'm telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth."

I shouldn't let him get away with it this easy I told myself. He lied and he didn't deserve me. But he was right there and his lips were so close.
