"Topman first, I wanna see you model," I told Zach gleefully.
"I don't know if that'll happen," he laughed as we arrived at the front of the store. The minute we walked in, something caught my eye. A blue denim button down among the leather section. Level of appeal: More than what it should be. I looked at him, and then back at the shirt, a smile on my lips.
"You would look hella fine in that shirt," I stated factually. Zach looked at me flirtatiously. Or maybe I dreamt it. It was hard to tell, because it was gone the second it appeared. I picked it up and held it up to his chest, nodding slightly.
"Yep," I said, placing it in his arms. I looked up at his face to see him staring at me with a half amused, half unreadable expression on his face. We stared at eachother that way for a few moments, me breaking the gaze first. "Um," I said, looking at the ground, then around the store. There wasn't anyone else there. Nice side note, Quinn, thanks for that.
"Continue," I told him, trying to look really serious. Seriousness is literally the only way to get past an awkward situation. I don't know if that's really true. He smiled and looked towards the other side of the store, taking my hand and leading me towards something he must've seen. At the same moment, I felt like someone kicked my heart. And the butterflies in my stomach turned into birds. I started getting a little nervous. Do normal friends do this? I mean, I think I've seen Dylan and Niall hold hands once or twice.
"Quinn?" Zach asked.
"What?" I snapped back to reality.
"Are you okay? You zoned out."
"Sorry, yeah, I'm fine," I smiled. He gave me a weird look, but went back to what he was doing. I noticed that he hadn't dropped my hand. So it hadn't been just to lead me over here? I shook my head, trying to clear it. i didn't want to read too much into it. I saw something in the corner of my eye, and pulled it out to reveal a sweater. I showed it to him excitedly.
"Zach look, a sweater," he looked up. "In July!" you had to admit, it was pretty weird. "And it would look good on you," I slipped in, smiling.
"But you just said it's July," he laughed, stepping closer. "Which means my birthday, by the way. What are you getting me?" Zach tried to use the same trick I had used on Liam earlier.
"I don't know, what are you getting me?" I asked slyly.
"But I can't tell you that," He said.
"Well then I guess I can't tell you either," I smiled. he rolled his eyes and pulled out a shirt. It was a black muscle tee with a wolf on the front.
"What do you think?" He asked. I took a moment to weigh the pros and cons of Zach in a cute muscle tee with an animal on it.
Pros:
Cute boy in cute shirt
Nice to look at
Muscles
Cute because animals+boy=me cryin
Zach
Cons:
I will zone out a lot more
Me not focusing when he's around
Not focusing in general
Muscles
Me cryin
Uh oh
"Je l'aime," I said, smiling. "Il vous convient."
"Bryan took french, not me," Zach told me, a blank expression on his face.
