Chapter 14

"So we're leaving Alfie in the car and me, Zoe and Arri are going to do a runner," Joe talks to his camera as we pull into the shopping centre.
"Here," I direct Alfie where to park and he pulls up and we dash out the car. The paparazzi had gone and found me and with Zoe's anxiety we needed to find away to get out. Photographers make an attempt to swarm us but I guide us out of the way.
"Zo, are you okay?" I ask and she nods as Alfie comes back into view.
"Is everyone alright?" He asks and we all nod. I end up buying a ton of gifts for Christmas and just having a great time.
We get back to their house and order pizzas and watch movies all evening until the following day rolls around. My time with Zoe is soon over and I'm leaving.
"See you soon," I hug her tightly.
"I will come to Nashville," She promises and we pull apart as I hop into a taxi. The airport was super busy but I bypass it with the jet and fly home.
I see Shawn in the terminal and quicken my pace. "Hey my number one girl," He whispers in my ear as we hug.
"Seriously?" I ask and he nods.
"Top of the charts since the first day,"
It was early morning but the rest of the day had to be spent tidying as Karlie and Josh were coming to stay with us as if Mom had Maya in hospital it would be very difficult.
We danced to Christmas songs and Shawn went to pick up Ev from school as Mom had an appointment about Maya. They arrive home and I send her to watch the TV whilst she waits. She was very excited.
I get a request for them to be sent up so I buzz them up and the elevator doors open and Karlie has a little boy on her hip and she carries a little girl in a carrier whilst Josh takes suitcases. Karlie looks exhausted.
Shawn helps with the luggage and Ev runs in excitedly. I place my hand in front of her and she frowns.
"Ssh, Ev. Aunt Karlie's babies are very tired and so is she. She'll come and give you a hug in a minute,"
"Okay Arri, Momma and Daddy coming soon?"
"Yeah, they'll be here with Maya too."
"Hello," Karlie breathes out slowly as she walks in. "Kids are too much hard work,"
"Do you need me to do anything?"
"Finn babe, you wanna give Mommy a rest?" He snores lightly and she passes him to me and I rest him on my hip.
"They're so cute," I whisper and look at Summer's tuft of blonde Karlie like hair and her shining eyes as she begins to cry.
"You're joking, one second." Karlie fumbles with the strap around Summer's body and picks her up and walks into the lounge to feed her.
Finn begins to cry in my arms and I gently bounce him around, "Mommy will be back soon little one," I coo as Mom and Ed walk in. Ev was hanging round Josh and Shawn.
"They're adorable," Mom gushes as Karlie walks back in, cradling Summer. By now Finn had his head resting on my shoulder, sucking his pacifier contently.
"I would make tea but I am currently holding an adorable baby, Shawn!"
"Hello beautiful,"
"Can you boil the kettle?"
"Fine," He heads not the kitchen as the rest of us make our way into the lounge.
"Auntie Karlie, are these your babies?" Ev asks and Karlie nods.
"Yes they are darling,"
"Can I hold one?"
"Of course, put your arms out like this. There you go," She places Summer on her small arms and supports the baby's head lightly.
As for Finn, he was sleeping in my arms. His light snoring noise was very calming to say the least.
As the night goes on Ed and Mom leave with Ev and the rest of us chat away. Mid-conversation we here a wail come from the spare room. Karlie sighs and begins to get up. "I'll get them," I tell her and walk into the room to see little Summer rolling around her travel crib whilst crying.
"Ssh," I whisper as I pick her up. "Travel cots just aren't the same are they?" Her wails lower to a whimper as I bounce her slowly in my arms. I give her a pacifier and wait for her to eventually fall asleep and she nods off on my shoulder. I kiss her forehead and put her back before walking back in to see Karlie asleep on the couch and Shawn and Josh talking.
"Thanks for that A," Josh speaks to me and I shake my head.
"It's nothing,"
"Karls is struggling with feeding the two of them at the moment. Were they both alright?"
"Fine, I believe."
I climb into bed as Shawn turns off all the lights, I feel him walk in and get changed before sliding under the covers and wrapping his arms around me tightly.
"I love you Arri,"
"Love you too Shawn,"
