Shawn's POV:
It was the last night of A and I's getaway to the Seychelles and my parents had left a week ago now. I knew I had to do something special whilst we're away and told A it would be happening today.
"Morning gorgeous," I look at her sleepy state and smile as I peck her nose.
"Mm," She mumbles and, after putting her glasses on, snuggles back into my chest.
"Tired babe?" I question and she mutters a response that I don't hear as I sit up.
"No! Why did you move?" She whines and I roll my eyes and pull her up to sit up next to me. She immediately places her legs over my lap and leans against my body as I wrap my arm around her.
"There's nothing going on is there honey, you are just tired?" I check and she nods. "Okay," I sigh and kiss her forehead. "Tell me if something's wrong though baby-"
"You hate to be worried about me," She finishes and grins cheekily.
"You've woken up, finally." I say as her stunning smile fills the room.
"Shut up," She hates being talked about, or complimented for that fact; one of the great mysteries I attempt to uncover within my girlfriend. We stay like this for a while, comfortable within each other's presence.
It gets past lunch before I leave to organise things for tonight; "I'm just gonna go sort some stuff out A. I'll meet you at 6:30. Okay?" I say as before I leave.
"Yeah," She doesn't look up from her book so I place a kiss on the top of her head.
"Okay bookworm," She doesn't look up again but acknowledges the action with a simple smile.
The day passes by and I finish setting up and get to the room to change quickly as Arri waits outside. I meet her and look up and down her beautiful figure several times as I cradle her hands in mine. She wears a cold-shoulder dress that lands just above her knees.
"Quit gawping at me," She states simply as I plant a kiss on her knuckles.
"Sorry," I say; "Couldn't help it,"
"Asshole," She responds to my proposition of wearing a blindfold.
"Come on gorgeous, there are guys on boats who want to take pictures of us, at least make it look like we're Troy and Gabriella."
"Fine," She gives in after a few minutes and I slide the blindfold over her wavy hair that cascades down her back.
"Shawn I don't trust you," She tenses as we begin to walk forward. I place a second arm on the other side of her waist to steady her.
"It's okay," I assure her as we walk onto the beach.
"Please remember that I'm barefoot," She say after a while.
"I got this A," I promise as we halt beside my idea. Here goes nothing.
Arri's POV:
Shawn removes the blindfold from my eyes and as an image comes into view I see the cutest little area on the beach. A table and chairs for two set up with picnic blankets alongside. It's lit up by lanterns and the ocean lapping over the sand is the only thing audible.
"Thank you," I whisper as I turn round to Shawn. "Thank you," I repeat myself as I fling my arms round his neck and hug him tightly.
"No problem beautiful," He leads me to the table and chairs. He pulls out the chair and gestures for me to sit in it which I do so gratefully. He perches opposite me and takes one of my hands across the table.
The food that is brought to us is incredible and I devour it along with Shawn. We finish and choose to sit out on the picnic blankets, I sit with my body in between Shawn's legs as we watch the sea go out.
"I have something to give you, Scott has a record of making me do this." He mutters the final part which makes me anticipate it more. He lays out a frame in front of me; my album. 5 times platinum. Tears flood my cheeks as Shawn cradles me, smiling ear to ear.
"You did it baby, you beat them all."
"What do you mean?" I say confusedly.
"Read that bit," He points to an area on the frame. It states I've broken a world record. The fastest time an album has ever done that. More tears of joy flow freely down my face as I marvel at what's around me.
"My thumbs aren't the greatest of tissues, I know." Shawn tells me as sweeps up my tears spilling from my tear duct. He finishes it and kisses my lips sweetly as I now sit turned round as Shawn's legs fit round my the perimeter of my body.
"I love you," I hear myself say after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
"I love you too," He replies as his hand caresses the bottom area of my leg. I suddenly begin to see more flashes and paps coming closer. "Just stay here gorgeous, I won't let anything happen to you." Shawn's arms move to slip around my upper body as I lean my head into his chest. They venture closer and closer to us and are soon watching us from all angles.
"Kiss then!" They begin to cheer as Shawn's grip simply tightens and becomes stronger.
"How's the holiday been then?!"
"Is it really love?!"
They bombard us with questions and edge closer and closer I feel as vulnerable as I did 4 years ago.
Shawn, sensing this, looks down on me worriedly. "Babe, just stay calm." He takes one of my hands and rubs his thumb on the back of it soothingly. "Security will come and sort it out later," He whispers as I nod. He knows all too well that I don't mind the few paps in Nashville but completely dislike LA for the never ending amounts that seem to swarm you, which is why we use our bodyguards then.
Shawn inspects me for any signs of a panic attack, all of which are very clearly drawn on my face.
"A, just breathe with me; okay?" I nod as my breath gets caught up my airways. Shawn breathes in and out clearly as my breath just speeds up.
"Is she okay?"
"What's wrong?!"
"Arri, baby, just look at me;" He waits for my head to come out of his chest. "Now I want you to control your breathing with words, tell me when you're breathing in and out." I recite to Shawn what my breathing's doing but keep seeing the paps glaring at me to grab information. My breath gets continually stuck and I squeeze onto Shawn's hands in fear.
"Keep going honey, the hotel security are here now. They'll be gone in a minute," He speaks to me and moves a hand to my hair that he strokes in a gentle fashion. I say exactly what my breathing's doing as Shawn looks at me with a reassuring smile.
The attack doesn't end until the paps are completely out of view and I cry again, this time in shame.
"No, no, no! Baby, don't cry." He hugs me into him as I cry slowly.
"I'm sorry," I whimper as Shawn runs his hand up and down my back.
"No, beautiful. It's understandable," He dries my tears quickly and devotes the subject to something new.
"So am I the best boyfriend in the world?" He asks as I laugh.
"Maybe," I respond as Shawn mocks his hurt.
"I don't like you anymore," He pretends to sulk and pouts his lips.
"Well then you are clearly the worst boyfriend in the world," I laugh and a smile grows on his face.
"Shut up," He sighs as I smirk. "Come here," He says and pulls me in to kiss him.
