Look At Me With Those Brown Eyes

She slowly woke up to a pair of strong arms holding her gently and the feel of his warm breathing down the back of her neck. She could lie there forever. She knew soon he would wake up and be off to the studio, leaving her the choice to either go with him and sit on the couch for the whole day staring at him through a glass panel, or stay home all alone in their big house with no one to fill it. Stevie had brought up many times the topic of how desperately she wanted a child. She wanted something to call theirs, a little baby Fleetwood crawling around the house. It's exactly what the house needed, and it's all she had wanted the past year. She had practically given up. Mick said he would like children too one day, but he didn't want one now, he claims that he's too busy with the band that theirs no time bringing a baby into the world. She tried her best not to let Mick see how much this upset her. It disturbed her that he couldn't and wouldn't even make time for family, his own child. But that's just Mick, Fleetwood Mac is his baby. She understood, just didn't agree. She felt his hand come up to brush the hair out of her face before kissing her gently on the forehead. She closed her eyes trying to cherish her last few minutes with him before he got up. He held her for the next few minutes him as well enjoying his last few minutes with his wife before getting up for work. He looked over at the alarm clock reading 8:56 a.m. He told the guys he'd be there 10 sharp. She heard him sigh in her ear. She knew what would come next. She rolled over in his arms to face him. "Don't go." She mumbled.

He had such a hard time telling her no. "I'm sorry darling, I told John I'd be there by 10.

He held her small waist as he gazed down into her big brown eyes.

"Please." She whispered.

She snuggled in closer to him. He melted. He kissed the top of her head, pulling her closer. "Alright, love. But I should head over around lunch."

She smiled pulling back to plant a kiss on his lips. He smiled back, she's too cute. Her smile faded and turned into a seductive grin.

Stevie stood over the sink washing the dishes waiting for Mick to come home from the studio. He'd been talking all week about finding a new guitarist, and fast! He really wanted to get started on a new album soon. Just as she finished her last plate she saw Mick pull up outfront in his mercedes benz. She wiped her hands on her apron before hanging it near the door and out to the foyer. He swung open the door with a big grin on his face. "How was your day." She asked brightly.
"Marvellous!" He replied as he took off his jacket.
He walked over to Stevie and kissed her passionately. He finally pulled back after nearly a minute, allowing her to catch her breath! "Woah! You're in a good mood Fleetwood!"
She turned her back to him to hide her blushing. "Yes I most certainly am! We got our first pay check today from the studio and I'm taking my beautiful wife out to dinner!" He said following her into the den.
She spun around to face him. "Really!?"
"Yes ma'am! So go get ready! The reservations for 7:00!"
She gave him a quick kiss before squealing and disappearing up the stairs to their bedroom.

When they arrived at the restaurant they were seated at a table in the corner. It was a beautiful elegant restaurant with red velvet curtains and table cloths set on candlelit tables. Stevie appreciated Mick taking her out to dinner, especially without a special occasion. It's not that they couldn't afford a nice dinner once in a while but Mick was always so busy with work and tired by the time he got home. Once they were finished their dessert they sipped their wine and talked for a while. It was getting pretty late, he thought they should leave soon if he had work tomorrow. But as if he had read her mind before she spoke up he reached into his pocket and pulled out a green velvet box, and held it out to her. "I haven't bought you anything nice in a while and I thought you deserve something beautiful." Her heart melted. "Awe Micky, thank you." She gushed.
"Go ahead, open it, love"
She did so, and inside was a golden locket. She let out a small gasp.
He grinned eagerly. "Open it." He urged.
Inside held a photo of the two of them on their wedding day in England. She smiled remembering the day. "Thank you so much baby, I love it!"
She met him across the table to share a kiss. "Would you mind helping me..."
Before she could finish he stood up and made his way over to her chair. He took the necklace from her and hung it around her neck as she held her long golden hair in front of her. "There." He said stepping back to get a better look. She smiled. "Gorgeous." He said.
"Let's go home!"
He left the bill on the table with a very generous tip and Mick and Stevie went back home to share a lovely evening together.
